  1. Can you PLEASE stop spoiling TV shows in the TMB Uncut?

You make a big deal out of the fact that you have a large international listernership, many of whom won’t get Battlestar Galactica for a long time.

I know you say “spoilers” and I do fast forward if I don’t want to hear them. This is a movie blog, not a TV blog anyway! It was bad enough listening to all the Transformers spoilers before the film came out in the UK, but the TV stuff really gets my goat. One day you’re going to spoil hereos and I’m going to leap over the atlantic and arse-fuck you with a squash ;)

  2. OK, Complaint: You FINALLY get Bruxy in and as you’re having a GREAT roundtable discussion, you KILL THE CONVERSATION BECAUSE A F***ING CAMERA RUNS OUT OF TAPE, even though you still have (I’m assuming) full audio capabilities.

Is there no way you can get a longer tape? Or use a camera that runs recordable DVDs? Or just let the camera tape run its course and continue the conversation? I mean, I LOVE the Uncut Videos but as I said before, if the technology kills the content (as you let it this episode) then get rid of the bad technology or upgrade (the camera in this case).

    Thanks!

  3. this new wave of 3D is more than a gimmick…

all those complaints you bring up john about why people are not going to the movies are valid but what better way for film makers to get people excited about going to the movies again than to give them an experiance you can ONLY have at the movies no matter how good your home cinema is.

everyone talks about the wave of the 80’s films like jaws 3, spacehunter, metalstorm etc etc and comparing it to that era but there is no comparison. the technology is sar removed and advanced from that that in terms of the 3D worl thats like comparing black and white t.v. with colour.

people dismissed “talkies” as a gimmick back in the day as well.immersion is the logical step and after seeing beowulf well i can;t imagine why you would want to watch it in 2D after seeing the 3D work.

plus look at the directors who have all announced 3D projects

    james cameron
    steven speilberg
    peter jackson
    george lucas

i think i will wait and see the results of what these guys do with the technology before i right it off as a gimmick….

  4. Enchanted was FANTASTIC. God, Amy Adams was so great in that flick. That “How Do You Know” song is stuck in my head.

The Mist was FANTASTIC. I loved the flick, and the ending was sick. That religious lady was annoying as hell, though.

    Hitman was trash. Nuff said.

  5. “What has Rowling done this year?”

Absolutely classic editon guys:) Bruxy was back and you had a delightful conversation about movie snacks. It was as if you made this one just for me.

Briefly, regarding Rowling winning her award. I will say that Rowling’s status as a celebrity is a big factor in her being selected as no.1, never mind making it onto the list. If she was some kind of recluse who shuns the public spotlight, i’m convinced that there is no way she would have won. In some unfair way, that is why song writers whom we’ve never heard of, no matter of popular their song is, will never make it onto these kind of lists. I agree that Rowling is responsible for entertaining a huge amount of people this year. This summer, literally every fifth person i saw, had a copy of the last Harry Potter book, and i’m talking about people of all ages.

I am totally on the same page as Doug regarding 3D. I think that (and i’ve said this in the actual 3D post), like any new sub-genre, 3D movies could become tiresome if enough of them clog the market. However, i think it’s great to have all future IMAX releases in 3D. The whole point of IMAX is to create a bigger event out of a movie and a more immersive experience. Studios might as well go the whole mile and make them 3D.

  6. John,

The video won’t render for me in any of my media players that support mpeg4 format and I cannot convert the file to another format either. Can you repost the video in a different format?
