First Look at Sci-Fi Thriller ‘Franklyn’

Franklyn-MovieToday, news and photos of the new thriller ‘Franklyn’ (starring Ryan Phillippe and Eva Green) have hit the net, and all I have to say is that the film looks great!!

FirstShowing gives us these details for the soon to be highly-anticipated film:

Franklyn is basically about four intertwining stories, three of which are based in contemporary London and one of which is based in a kind of parallel fantasy environment called Meanwhile City. Our hero in that strand is this sort-of masked vigilante detective who’s the only atheist in Meanwhile City, played by Ryan Phillippe, who basically runs around trying to extract people from cults, has a big cynicism about the whole thing and hates The Ministry with a vengeance.”
What is Meanwhile City? “It’s this place which is sort-of run by a shadowy, religious uber-power called The Ministry who has decided, over the centuries, that as long as they can get their population to believe in something – anything – they can control them. People have faiths and religions based on strange things like The Seventh Day Manicurists and Washing Machine Street Preachers. Their doctrines and dogmas are all based on things like washing machine instructions.”

Wow, this sounds like a film tailor made for Mr. Doug Nagy! :P I, am not a very religious person, (I’m more of a spiritual person myself) but this movie’s concept sounds intriguing enough for me to check this one when it comes out next year. (Although, the stills for the film already had me sold!) This seems like a pretty impressive project for first time director, Gerald McMorrow and I hope he can deliver the goods! 1. According to the survey, France has about 2.6 million millionaires, that is most in European countries .After the Outlander win the presidential election , Maybe the rich will fear the outbreak of the exodus. In fact, many multinational corporations before the election, one after another continued to headquarters out of Paris, the transfer tax rate is relatively low, Luxembourg, Hong Kong, even the United Kingdom. “Well-known French brand Louis Vuitton Handbags On Sale boutique group LVMH , also reported to consider To the headquarters moved to London from Paris, it is necessary to avoid heavy taxes, and increased high tax rates make LV headquarters in Paris, it is difficult to find the Senior Management .

  2. Apparently it’s out in December. I can’t wait, Eva Green is going to put on a flawless performance as always and with the whole scifi, noir type genre the movie has. This should be worth watching.

I wish the trailer was out already.

  3. Maybe this is a direct response to the fact that the golden compass is meant to have toned down it’s anti-church message? Sounds kind of similar premise, Magistratum (or whatever they are called) and the ministry.
