I like this idea for a Disney movie. They take the most classic Disney Princess archetype and thrust her out of her animated fairytale world and into ours. With some charming results.
In an animated fairy tale world, a young girl meets and falls in love with the handsome prince of her dreams. News of this romance upsets the prince’s mother, the evil queen, who uses her black magic to send the girl hurtling out of the animated world into the one place in the universe where there is no true love: modern day Manhattan. The now-real girl has to survive in New York City and find her way home again to her true love. Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden and Susan Sarandon star.
Now call me sappy, but I just LOVe this kind of stuff. Sure its enough to put you into sugar shock but just from this trailer alone I am actually looking forward to this. It will be a good movie I can take my kids to and looks witty enough for me to enjoy it too.
The wicked witch embodies the very look and feel of the typical Disney Evil Witch. This just blends just enough of the Disney sweetness, live action charm and edgy parody that mixed with very little toil and trouble to make the perfect family film.
