J.J. Abrams Not Directing Star Trek?

Ok, some people over at Paramount had better start working on internal communications a little bit better. Just the other day a Paramount exec came out and announced that J.J. Abrams will indeed be directing the next failure…. I mean… Star Trek movie (as I’ve said before, if they let JJ reinvent it, it could work great… but if they make just another status-quo Star Trek movie, it’ll flop).

However, now J.J. is coming out and saying he’s NOT yet committed to directing the next Star Trek. The good folks at Movieweb give us this:

the mega-producer/director said he is actively working on the latest sci-fi flick in the franchise. And currently, he’s only serving as a producer and not director at this time.

So which is it? Is the dude directing or just producing this one? How screwed up are things over there already that the studio exec and the Producer are already announcing conflicting facts to the media? Oh sweet heavens… are we about to see another Halo? I mean come on people… how hard is it to figure out if J.J. is or is not directing the movie???

I know I just put this pic up last week again, but I can’t help it… I laugh my ass off every times I read it.
