I have grown to appreciate Mark Ruffalo’s iteration of the Hulk over the 2 Avengers films and held out curiosity if there would be any more adventures for the Hulk in any non-Avengers films. The Hulk is one of my favorite characters to read in the comics but has been a tad disappointing in the films simply because he’s under-powered. The Hulk is portrayed as one of the most formidable characters in the entire Marvel Universe with beings of all sorts of power levels having trouble defeating the character in combat. Thor seemed to have all sorts of trouble with the Hulk in the first Avengers film:

This varying level of ability is noticeable by me and a few other comic pundits who just are not that interested in what the MU has done to the character. He absolutely should NOT have lost that fight to Stark so while I was curious about his return, I wasn’t all that interested.
Pairing Hulk with Thor seems like a great idea in order to create more of a ‘buddy comedy’ vibe to the film as the Thor films have been some of the weaker links of the Marvel films.
