Jason Statham knows a good gig when he sees one, and he would be interested in a sequel to last summer’s “Expendables”. Screencrave reports:
When Statham spoke to the folks over at Collider, he was asked about the sequel and whether or not he would be interested in reprising his role.
“I’d be the first to say yes to a phone call from Sly. I mean, we spoke about it as soon as the movie started to do really well and he says, you know, it would be great to do this again.”
I wouldn’t mind at all if he was in the sequel either. But the more I think about it, wouldn’t the original cast (not including those who played the bad guys) return anyway? Stallone would at least attempt to get the team back in action (Statham, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Mickey Rourke and Dolph Lundgren) I would think.
I’m not saying it’s a bad thing. I’m saying it’s good. But I’m also of the mindset that naming other action stars past or current would have to fall in a ‘bad guy’ (or bad girl) category.
Anyone hyped over a ‘Expendables 2″? Anyone want Statham or the rest of “the team” back?

I would have to think that most of them would want to return since some of the actors there don’t exactly have a lot of their films being released into theaters. Some of them were on the rebound and their careers are thriving once again in some form or another most notable being Rourke and Stallone of course.
Hey dont forget Terry Crews! he was an expendable also.
Statham is a key member, seems the logical leader if Sly decides to do a passing of the torch thing through the films.
