Brad Pitt to join Andrew Dominiks Cogans Trade

We all remember the last time Andrew Dominik chose to work with Brad Pitt on a film, ‘The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford’ was the product of that effort. I loved that film mostly because when I was a kid I was obsessed with Jesse James stories and to me it felt like a story book brought to life in a very beautiful and almost poetic way.

The film is about a professional enforcer named Jackie Cogan, who investigates a heist that takes place during a high stakes poker game under the protection of the mob.

Jo Blo.com Reports:

Dominik is also reportedly hoping to reunite with two other JESSE JAMES vets – Casey Affleck and Sam Rockwell – as well as potentially bringing on Mark Ruffalo and Javier Bardem. Let’s hope!

I have high expectations for this film, and I find that Brad Pitt has been making a lot of great choices in films in his older age. I hope they use the same Director of Photography that they used on The Assassination of Jesse James because those shots were remarkably lit and gorgeous to watch.

  1. Yeah dude I also love the comic series and own every issue back to the first. I loved the first tv episode and was amazed at the gore that they got away with. From what everybody else tells me the next episodes are just as good too, although they’re saving Michonne for the second season which is a bummer. As far as Pitt goes though I know that the success of the tv show will HAVE to spur him into making his flick a bit faster hopefully. I gotta admit they do have a good cast set up for this movie though.

  2. Screw this movie. Where is the World War Z movie at that he was supposed to be starring in/producing? That’s what I’d like to know. After watching the awesomeness that was the Walking Dead I’m now even more eager for this movie to get off the ground already.

    1. OH MAN! You watched that too! SOOOOO Good! I am so glad they stayed so close to the source material because I own all the books and that series is so amazing, I just can’t wait till they find the prison!! And yeah World War Z I’m way more eager to be done first, but its release date is set for sometime in 2012 so I’m sure it wont enter the production stage until early summer of 2011.
