It comes once a year; 4th of July Weekend. It’s where big studios go head-to-head with their tentpole films. So what blockbuster movies get to fight it out this weekend? It’s Vampires & Werewolves vs. Water, Earth, Fire and Air. Who will win? That answer is debatable. It depends on what meaning you give to the word “win”. The Last Airbender is entertaining and much aligned in reviews. I walked out of Avatar and its trite treatment of issues of ethnic margination bordering on genocide. The main character in Airbender is a true representation of the underdog hero. My 9-year-old daughter was entralled and asking intelligent questions throughout. She asked to buy the DVD as soon as it comes out.
I just saw the sunrise showing of Eclipse and it is far better than the previous two. (I still loved them despite all the obvious flaws)The directing and effects were great and the acting is better to. (if you already hate the series I doubt this film will change you mind though)Now I am off to order my Airbender tickets. What a great week!

hmmm…I’ve only seen one of the Twilight movies, but love the Avatar: The Last Airbender (Emmy Award winning) animated series. I’ll go with TLA.

im going to say, after seeing the first two twilight movies and hating both of them with a passion i watched eclipse and was pleasantly surprised. its got good action and good acting by everyone except kristin stewart and robert pattinson. overall a very enjoyable movie
Twilight and Air Bender will both be huge hits, but Twilight will be the bigger hit this weekend. ALSO, judging by the positive reviews for the new Twilight movie, I think this will be the biggest grossing of all three Twilight movies. Fangirls will watch this movie over and over and it will have strong staying power.
The Last Airbender is the Darkhorse of the year.
It might just be M. Night Shyamalan best movie todate.
It’s a double edged sword for me. Because I said last year that I hope twilight has something awesome coming out the same week so I can see it in peace. But the Last Airbender is what’s coming out and I want that to do well because I really feel it’s Night’s return to form. I think the fact that he’s working with other source material, will finally show he’s a good director; which he proved so with Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. I’ve been waiting for a good M. Night movie for a while and I feel bad it’s going to bomb because of some gimmicky teen vampire film. Yes, I’ve seen the first film, I’ve given the franchise a chance…they just aren’t that good in my opinion. There are other franchises I hate but respect like Harry Potter and Star Wars (yes, seriously) but I respect the creativity and innovation that those movies showcase…In my eyes, Twilight isn’t worthy of even that category.

I find it sad that I know at least one person who will see Eclipse 3 times in the first 48 hours.
After I saw the first one, I didn’t have much interest in the series. It was SO bad…

im fed up of twilight, even if eclipse turns out to be good or bad, so im looking to see something fresh and the Last Airbender looks like it could be a great summer film and im hoping it is.
i car i much rather see the last air bender i know twilight will make more money becuase it has a higher fan base but as much as i am surprised to say this i think the last air bender will be good
