Rango Trailer

Yesterday we got a glimpse at the poster for Johnny Depp’s new animated feature, Rango. Today we get the trailer. Enjoy…

Rango tells the story a chameleon with an identity crisis, who embarks on a journey of self-discovery taking place in the western town of Dirt. Gore Verbinski directs, while Depp is lead character. The cast includes Abigail Breslin, Bill Nighy, Harry Dean Stanton, Isla Fisher, Alfred Molina, Timothy Olyphant, Stephen Root, and Ray Winstone. Rango has a scheduled release of March 4th, 2010.

This movie looks like fun. I’ll probably check it out when it comes. The trailer looks gorgeous; the effects look awesome. I like what they seem to be going for here. Also, don’t you guys get the feel of Depp’s chameleon being somewhat similar to Depp’s character and vibe on 1998’s Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas character?

Do you like the trailer? Planning on watching this?

  1. fear and loathing? i just realized that i haven’t seen the movie.

with gore verbinski portfolios on pirates of caribbean series, i guess this rango will be worth to watch. though, i wonder what it would be like if tim burton were the one who direct.

  2. If you freeze the trailer at 1min and 48seconds you actually see Hunter s. Thompson. I’m almost a 100% positive its the scene from fear and loathing if not a tribute to it for sure. Check it out, he’s driving the car that the chameleon flattens against the windshield.
