As most of you know, when I was down in Los Angeles a few weeks ago I had the huge thrill of getting together with Ken Davitian, the man who did the masterful job of playing Azamat Bagatov (Borat’s traveling partner and producer) in the Borat movie. The guy was genuinely one of the nicest people I’ve met, really down to earth and just plain cool. He also bought my dinner, so that puts him in my good books for life!
The other day Ken and I finally got the chance to connect again and talk about a bunch of stuff including:
– How he got the role of Azamat
– Some of his best memories working on Borat
– The infamous Hotel Room wrestling scene
– What he’s working on now
– The Borat DVD promotion
– His amazing business “The French Dip”
– His thoughts on Borat 2
– Some of the extras on the Borat DVD we can expect on Tuesday

Great interview John.
Ken Davitian is such a great guy! Wonderful interview John.
I gotta admit, that picture and your facial expression makes me wonder if you two weren’t recreating your own special Borat memories. You know, all off-Broadway and whatnot.
I agree with Flippedman, I thought he would sound fatter. Good interview tho :)
lol, hard to believe they are the same people.
neat.
Very cool!
The whole time I was listening to that the voice just didn’t match up with the image I had in my head of Mr. Davitian.
That was cool. Great interview Giovanni. See if you can get Cohen on too next time. That would be hilarious to hear these guys together.
