Christie’s is planning to auction props from the “Star Trek” TV series. Items will include phaser guns, a model of the Starship Enterprise, and Captain Kirk’s chair. Auction will be in New York in October on the show’s 40th anniversary. Also available will be the uniforms of Spock, Uhura, and Captain Picard
The good folks over at the BBC have this to say:
The most valuable lot is a replica of Captain Kirk’s chair, which was made for the series Deep Space Nine in 1996. The chair, which featured in an episode called Trials and Tribble-ations, has an estimated price of $15,000
Ok, I’m not the biggest Star Trek fan in the world… but having that chair would be SWWEEETTTT!!!!!
As you may have heard by now, the top-priced item sold at the auction last week was the shooting model of the USS Enterprise-D from The Next Generation, which sold for a grand total (including the auction house commission) of $576,000.00. The entire auction brought in over $7.1 million dollars, more than double the pre-auction estimates.
