Apatow Black and Ramis To Team Up For Year One

Fresh off of their collaboration in Knocked Up, Ramis and Apatow join forces again for an upcoming project named Year One. We get the scoop from cinematical:

What happens when you mix a hot, comedic behind-the-scenes guy, a member of Kathleen Turner Overdrive and the ghost-fighting Dr. Egon Spengler? You get Columbia Pictures’ Year One, the latest comedy added to Judd Apatow’s production heap. The movie will star Tenacious rocker Jack Black and be helmed by the one and only Harold Ramis. Unfortunately, and annoyingly, there doesn’t seem to be any word on what this movie is about. It’s a collaboration between Ramis and two writers of The Office — Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg. Is it the first year of life? Of work? Of a family? Of a space mission?

Not a ton of information about this project yet, but we eill keep you posted. Apatow keeps gaining steam with his projects and is becoming an immovable cinematic juggernaught. By focusing on teams of people that work well together, Apatow is able to bring that sense of comradery to the screen. It makes for very good comedy and for endearing charachters.

Harold Ramis is a funny dude, he has a black belt in hilarious. I was delighted to see him in Knocked Up, and am quite happy he is working with Apatow once again. Over the past 10 years Apatow has been involved in some way shape or form, with some of the greatest comedies in the cinema. He has a talent for funny and we all benefit from his ability to create, finance, and helm projects of hilarity. We are all in his debt, and I salute him for his outstanding work.
