2026 is not coming slow when it comes to television. It’s only been a few months, but some of the most anticipated shows of the year have already been released. From long-anticipated finales to new beginnings, here’s everything that came out in 2026.
1.Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessett (Hulu)
Ryan Murphy has brought us America’s famous love story, Love Story. The show features the whirlwind romance between J.F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bassett. America’s son and Calvin Klein publicist takes on the high society of the 90s New York. Newcomer Paul Anthony Kelly stars with Sarah Pidgeon, shape-shifting into their characters.
The show is about their romance and marriage becoming a national obsession, and against the hawk eyes of paparazzi. It navigates how the media attention negatively affected their personal relationship and invaded their privacy in a ruinous way. The show also went through scrutiny with Daryl Hannah publicly calling it out, along with members of the Kennedy family. Regardless, the mystery and timelessness of the old New York elite societies are captured immaculately well.
2. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (HBO)
Game of Thrones fans are over the moon because the universe has expanded once again. Based on George R.R. Martin’s “Dunk & Egg” novellas, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, just dropped its first season. The first season follows Ser Duncan the Tall, played by Peter Claffey, and his young squire, who is a prince in disguise, Aegon V Targaryen, played by Dexter Sol Ansell. The next season will adapt The Sworn Sword, taking viewers to The Reach, where a drought has escalated, causing tensions between two noble clans. As compared to its predecessor, this show has a more character-driven approach as it grounds everyday politics in fractured Westeros.
3. Young Sherlock (Prime Video)
It seems like Prime Video is not gonna lose its streak for releasing amazing new adaptations any time soon. Young Sherlock came out this year in March, starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin with a completely different Sherlock than the one the audience is used to. The story begins when he meets James Moriarty at Oxford and later gets framed for murder. He must get out of this globe-trotting mystery and unravel the conspiracy. Other brilliant cast members include Joseph Fiennes, Colin Firth, and Zine Tseng. If you’re a fan of the Victorian era adventure and quirky British characters, then you won’t regret watching this one.
4. The Pitt (Season 2, HBO)
The medical drama that gained immense critical acclaim with 13 Emmy nominations and five wins is back with a second season. The show is about the everyday medical chaos faced by the frontline healthcare workers in the Pittsburgh hospital. The leading cast member is Noah Wyle as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch. The show is ongoing with its final episode scheduled to be released on April 16. This season also marked the return of Jack Abbot (Shawn Hatosy) in episode 7. If you’re into shows like Grey’s Anatomy and ER, this one won’t disappoint you.
5. One Piece (Season 2, Netflix)
One of the most beloved anime’s in the world, One Piece has got its live-action American series, and that’s one of the best things that has happened to television. Eiichiro Oda’s beloved manga has the world in a chokehold, securing a #1 in 43 countries and earning a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The show will make five manga arcs, which include Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island. Many new cast members have joined the cast, including Joe Manganiello as the sinister Mr. 0 (Crocodile), Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday, and Charithra Chandran as Princess Vivi. Tony Tony Chopper, visually presented through CGI and voiced by Mikaela Hoover. The sea adventures continue with intense action and infectious camaraderie.
