Animated Movies 2026: Top 7 Releases You Can’t Miss

It’s the golden age for animated movies! Animated movies are no longer limited for children since the past few years but have successfully secured audience members from every age group. Box office successes like The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Inside Out 2 that have made billions have proved how filmmakers should be equally drawn to making animated movies as they are to real-life ones. Among the many animated features coming out in 2026, here are the top 7 ones that are expected to delight their loyal audience.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (April 1, 2026)

Following the success of the first movie, Super Mario Galaxy will be set in the same universe. Mario and Luigi will enter space to stop Bowser Jr.’s nasty ambitions while offering spectacular views of the Mushroom Kingdom. The star-studded cast includes Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, and Jack Black as Bowser. Some new additions to this cast include Donald Glover, Brie Larson, Issa Rae, and Luis Guzman, who’ll be voicing the new characters. Guess we should be ready to see a lot of stunning intergalactic visuals with Rosalina’s Lumas.

Toy Story 5 (June 19, 2026)

Disney and Pixar are bringing back one of the most successful and beloved franchises of all time with Toy Story 5. Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack will be reprising their roles as Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie. The plot of the film will center around one of the biggest crises of the 1st century: technology. Director Andrew Stanton will dare to portray how technology is not merely a villain but a greater challenge in understanding the role of toys in a digitized society.

Minions 3 (July 1, 2026)

The adorable little guys who converse in fluent gibberish are ready to take over once again. Pierre Coffin will voice the Minions in the latest installment titled Minions & Monsters. This time, we’ll be traveling back with Kevin, Stuart, and Bob to 1920s Hollywood to star in a monster film. The trouble unleashes when the trio accidentally finds real monsters instead of fake ones. The situation will be dealt with characteristic humor and fun-filled adventures as per their style.

The Cat in the Hat (November 6, 2026)

Dr. Seuss’ adaptation is finally coming to the big screens thanks to Warner Bros. The production company has gathered the most amazing ensemble of cast members, including Bill Hader, Quinta Brunson, Bowen Yang, Xochitl Gomez, and Matt Berry. Unlike the live-action remake of famous cartoons, this time we’ll be experiencing the animated Seuss. The story is about the smart cat taking on one of his most serious missions yet.  he will be helping two siblings who are unhappy after they move to a new town. I hope the movie will not fail to capture the whimsical aesthetics offered by the classic book and will cinematically enhance it.

Animal Farm (May 1 2026)

Based on George Orwell’s classic novel, this unique animated feature Animal Farm will bring in the rebellious jungle tale. The movie will be about how humans intervene in the animal world by conspiring against them with one of their own. Andy Serkis (The Jungle Book) has directed with a star packed cast of voice actors like Seth Rogen, Woody Harrelson, Glenn Close, Steve Buscemi, and Jim Parsons.

Everyone’s favorite game-to-film adaptation, Angry Birds, is returning with its third installment, and it’s hard to keep calm. A year ago, it was announced that the film was launching into production. Though there’s no trailer or insights which are officially given, we know that Sega and Rovio are ready for another bird vs pigs drama. We also know the cast members are Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, and Rachel Bloom. YouTube sensation MrBeast and Salish Matter have also joined the cast.

Hexed (November 2026)

Hexed (2026)
Disney is about to grace us with its original storytelling once again with Hexed. The magical adventure was co-directed by Josie Trinidad and Jason Hand, who were both story artists on Zootopia and Frozen 2. It tells the tale of a mom who discovers that his son has magical powers. The whole experience becomes life-changing. Disney is already renowned for delivering original screenplays that also resonate with the audience, so we’ll have big expectations from this one.

It is safe to say that 2026 is packed with animated features with diverse themes. Let us know which one of these films you are most excited for?

Happy Watching!
