  1. The funniest moment in this episode came at a little after 41:50 when John calls Leelee Sobieski… Leelee Lebowski!

Had to LOL… Leelee “The Broad” Lebowski…

  2. Hey John. Great podcast. Even with Doug on it. In terms of how I feel about Doug’s swearing. I do think that it is a bit heavy at times, but I’m use to it now so it doesn’t bother me. I at one point was going to stop listening, since initially it was a bit to much for me. But when I heard that Bruxy was on I continued to listen and now I’m use to it. Do I believe that he should tone it down. If he can, but either way it doesn’t bother me at this point. Really and truthfully I like that Doug kind of makes it fun to listen since you never know what he is going to say next, and really I just want Dough to be himself. So if he keeps swearing it is fine with me and if he stops it is fine with me also.

And as for why films are not selling. Really I believe that it comes down to the marketing. Hollywood needs to create better ads. For the most part the commercials that I saw for the films now in theatre all told me that this was a renter and not a film to be seen in the theatre. That is of course besides 30 days of night which I did see. If Hollywood where to change there marketing strategy I believe they would find that they would have more people out in theatres.

  3. It’s great to hear Bruxy again. Almost forgot what he sounds like…

During the cast, though, you said no one goes to the movies based on one name alone. Oddly, the no#2 film wasn’t The Rocks Disney film (that was #3)…but the Tyler Perry film. Perry’s films have been somewhat of an underdog, and all of them thus far have been hits…and made on low to modest budgets. While this is an example of an exception—it just seems odd that Gio didn’t mention it.

As to what caused the failure at the box office, it was too many dramas to keep track of, the wrong time to release them, and too many releases in a weekend (it was eight releases, including the spoof flick of Gridiron Gang, sports films and Radio) …

    …and the baseball playoffs…?

    ********

As I said the other day, I would not mind seeing Zod again either. But I would like some consideration for Metallo, Parasite, Bizzaro or even Mytzlplyk, (as he reveals to Supes that his kid is not his kid but a magical expieriment that makes kid vaporize)

    ******

I think all commericals before films should at the very least have product placement within the film itself. Like Moutain Dew/Pepsi with Transformers, Cheerios for Superman….(see Donner film)…

  4. Ah its so great to have the Four Musketeers back together again.

Great show guys, everyone was in superb form.

I think Supes, like Captain America, needs a character retooling. The world has changed too much for the character to be taken seriously. That is a bigger issue than coming up with new storylines for the way the character exists now.

  5. I think that would be good if they kill off the son of Superman. I think what could happen next is that it could send Superman into a Rage and he could really display his powers upon the Villian who ever it may be. If Superman were to really display his powers in a blind Rage after his son being killed it might make the audience appreciate his character more because of how he is holding back his strength agaisnt regular bad guys.

I think why people aren’t complaining about the Joker is because its not the same Joker? I mean Superman Returns basically was a homage to the first Superman movie so if they make a sequel and bring Zod back in it might be like another Superman film that is very similar to Superman II. Then again Superman Returns isn’t really a sequel to the second film but of course the brilliant writting team decided to use the fact that Superman and Lois had sex to bring in a little superboy even though Superman Returns isn’t an actual sequel to Superman II.

I had to many problems with Superman Returns and one thing that bugged me the most was the fact that Lois didn’t seem to think that Superman Raped her. Perhapes if she thinks he did rape she doesn’t mind?

  6. when you guys said luthor should make a robot. he should make metallo. think about it. robot with kryptonite inside him. he will kick superman’s ass because he can’t get near him

  7. I saw 30 Days of Night twice this past weekend, and I must say it was very good. Definitely not Oscar worthy, but for recent horror movies, it was very well done. I loved the new take on vampires, I enjoyed the character development, I really liked the fact that it was gory but not over the top gore porn, save for a few scenes. I highly recommend 30 Days of Night for all horror movie fans, vampire fans and the people who like to have a few good scares and jumps during a movie. I think at one point, my girlfriend screamed louder than everyone else in the theater combined lol. Definitely worth your money to see this one.
