  1. Actually, I love the Abyss..I havent seen the theatrical version, but I have the directors cut on dvd (which actually has both versions, but ive never actually clicked it) and to be quite honest, im very satisfied with the ending (though I believe there was quite a bit of stuff added to it)..though, yes, the very last 3 minutes of the film is cheesy..

Movies that I like/love than everyone else hates:
    the first Ninja Turtles movie
    My Science Project
    armageddon
    ghostbusters 2
    gremlins 2
    hulk
    hook
    1941
    kingdom of heaven
    robin hood:prince of theives

#2 Bedazzed best scene (though not a life) was the school bit for me ^^

  3. I’m with Bruxy on the ear scene in Reservoir Dogs. The first time I watched the DVD, I shut it down. Didn’t watch rest of the movie until a year or so later.

Don’t recall the movie but saw a movie about Christians being tortured during Roman times (after the crucifixion) – the Christian was lowered into boiling oil – he wouldn’t recant his belief. I was too young to be watching this on late-night TV (back in the early 60’s). Scene stuck with me for years.

  4. DOUGLAS,

When you got back from LA LA you’re going to come over and watch Escape From LA with me. You can point out all of the places you visited while on vacation. I’ll supply the snackies.

    I CAN’T WAIT.

  5. Bedazzled was a very funny movie. The drug-lord bit still makes me laugh just thinking about it.

Some of the more disturbing (emotionally) torture scenes:

    Reservoir Dogs-the ear-split

Misery-the ‘hobbling’ was friggin’ disturbing (good call Darren)

Irreversible- the rape scene. I had to stop watching it, because it was so horrible, but it’s a movie that is well worth watching, just don’t expect it to be an entertaining film. It’s a great movie to help ponder the whole nature of violence and how truly horrible it is.

Se7en- Marla mentioned this in the original post and I completely agree that the lust scene was very disturbing, even though nothing was shown

The Bone Collector- lots of knife wounds, and a bunch of hungry rats. Ughh!!!

Swimming with Sharks- paper cuts to the face. Another Ughhh!!

  6. Didn’t know where to post this, but I just saw a sneak preview of the new Hilary Swank flick The Reaping. STAY AWAY FROM THIS FUCKING MOVIE. IT IS BEYOND RIDICULOUS, STUPID, NOISY, AND POINTLESS. I hope I have a better time at my Grindhouse screening tomorrow. Man, I love living in Raleigh. We get screenings out the wazoo.
