The acclaimed Spanish-language crime drama Women in Blue, also known as Las Azules, is officially returning for its second season. Apple TV has confirmed that the new season will make its global debut on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. Following the premiere, the series will roll out one new episode weekly through September 30.
The series, which garnered a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes for its inaugural outing, continues to follow the journey of María, played by Bárbara Mori. In the upcoming season, María has been promoted to lieutenant. Her professional advancement is quickly complicated when the discovery of a student activist’s body pulls the team into a complex investigation linked to the student massacre of 1968.
A High-Stakes Investigation
As the investigation deepens, the team faces a series of shocking revelations that reach into the heart of the police department. With a mysterious figure delivering justice directly to the precinct, the Azules must navigate a system riddled with corruption while fighting for their own ideals. The series stars Mori alongside Ximena Sariñana, Natalia Téllez, and Amorita Rasgado.
The show is produced by Lemon Studios and was created by Fernando Rovzar and Pablo Aramendi. The production team includes executive producers Rovzar, Wendy Riss, Alejandro Lozano, Erica Sánchez Su, and Billy Rovzar. Fans of the Women in Blue crime thriller can catch up on the entire first season on the streaming platform ahead of the August premiere.
The return of the series highlights Apple TV’s continued investment in international storytelling. Given the critical reception of the first season, expectations are high for how the show will handle its transition into this darker, history-focused narrative arc.
