Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender Sets July 25 Global Premiere on Paramount+

The next chapter in the Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender universe is officially arriving this summer. Paramount+ has confirmed that the new original film will premiere globally on the streaming service on Saturday, July 25, 2026.

The announcement arrived alongside the release of the official trailer, which offers a first look at the return to the Four Nations. The story follows Aang, the world’s last Airbender, as he discovers an ancient power that could save his culture from extinction. Aang must embark on a global quest with his friends to secure this power before it falls into the wrong hands and threatens the peace they have worked so hard to maintain.

A Star-Studded Return to the Four Nations

The film features a massive voice cast, including Eric Nam as Aang and Dave Bautista as Tagah. They are joined by Jessica Matten, Román Zaragoza, Steven Yeun, and Dionne Quan. The ensemble also includes Freida Pinto, Ke Huy Quan, Taika Waititi, Geraldine Viswanathan, Ronny Chieng, and Ken Jeong. Additionally, Dee Bradley Baker returns to voice the iconic animal companions Appa and Momo.

The project is directed by Lauren Montgomery, with Steve Ahn and William Mata serving as co-directors. The screenplay was penned by Tim Hedrick and Christopher Yost, based on a story by Bryan Konietzko, Michael Dante DiMartino, Tim Hedrick, and Kenneth Lin.

Comic-Con International Presence

Before the film hits the streaming platform, fans will have the opportunity to celebrate the release at San Diego Comic-Con International. The studio has scheduled a Hall H panel for Thursday, July 23, where the creative team and voice cast will discuss the making of the film and the future of the franchise. A fan screening is also set for Friday, July 24, in Ballroom 20.

For those attending the convention, Paramount+ will host a booth on the floor featuring interactive experiences, including a themed arcade game. This upcoming release marks a significant expansion of the beloved animated world created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, and it will be interesting to see how this new story resonates with long-time fans of the franchise.
