Butler And Aniston In Bounty Hunter Comedy

Gerard Butler may end up being a serious one hit wonder. He was the next big thing after the major success of 300, but in the 3 films I’ve seen him in since, well, let’s just say his stock is falling rapidly. Nim’s Island, PS I Love You, and most recently RockNRolla were all disappointments and to be honest Butler didn’t do anything for me in them at all.

But there are still a few projects he has coming up that I’m interested in. One is obviously the Neveldine/Taylor flick “Game“, another is “How To Train Your Dragon” and now this one he’s got cooking up with Jennifer Aniston that I think sounds hilarious:

Variety reports that Aniston and Butler are in negotiations to star in a new, currently untitled, bounty hunter comedy. Should this all pan out, Butler will play a bounty hunter who is hired to hunt down a fugitive that’s skipped bail — one who just so happens to be his ex-wife (Aniston).

I love it! A very simple premise, but one with a ton of potential. Hopefully this will also be one that Butler can fit into better than his last few projects. Smells like it could be a little bit of “Mr and Mrs Smith” with a dash of “Dog Bounty Hunter”. The project doesn’t have any sort of title or people assigned to it yet so it’s still a ways off… but sign me up. (Source: Cinematical)
