Taken Poster Art

Taken-Poster.jpg

We all know that trailers are supposed to make a movie look good. It’s really not that hard to do… dig through 100 minutes of a movie to put a 90 second piece together comprising of all the best elements… even a bad movie can have 90 interesting seconds. But it’s not that often that a trailer makes you jump out of your seat and scream at the top of your lungs “Holy Shit I want to see this movie YESTERDAY!!!!”. The trailer for “Taken” did that for me.

The artwork for the film doesn’t turn my crank too much. There’s nothing wrong with it, but nothing special either. It’s fine I guess… but the movie is one I’m dying to see. September can’t get here fast enough.

Just for the sake of it… here’s the trailer again:

I notice that the poster has the release date listed as 9-26-08 but everywhere else including the Taken website says 9-19-08. Is this a misprint or am I missing something?

  2. i saw this in korea a few months ago. pretty good film, good action, liam neeson is a bad arse, but that’s about it. i thought there would be more to the plot than what there was as in the end it really was a 30 minute movie stretched out to 90 minutes. really enjoyable though as it’s so fast paced, but lame coda.

  3. Saw this a couple weeks ago and I have to say that it’s one of more entertaining films of 2008. The film is less than 90 minutes and it moves at a pretty brisk rate. Neeson’s character = Bourne + Jack Bauer. It’s pretty cliched but it’s damn fun. The only problem I found with the film is that the fight scenes are cut to hell. It’s not as bad as Bourne Supremacy but you don’t know what the hell is going on.

  4. just watched it. neeson was great in it. the girl from LOST was a little annoying, and Famke was a bitch which the part called for. Good movie check it out.

  5. I actually really like the poster and think it’s pretty original. The movie looks solid too. You’d have to be nuts to mess with a Jedi knights family.

  6. I saw this movie two days before, and it was not mind blowing, but I really enjoyed it. Nesson was freakin’ awesome in his role, and this Pierre Morel guy really did advance since his other film, Banlieu 13. It’s really a bit Bourne-ish, but without that annoying shitty-shacky-cam. It’s a great action-revenge movie…

  7. This is a genre I love as it harkens back to the days when Charles Bronson was a B-Movie force in theaters. I must say you won’t see critical acclaim for Bronson’s DEATH WISH 3 ( In fact you will see quite the opposite) but that is one great B-movie action film. I love the way this film looks as it’s one guy taking on a force of evil all by himself! Plus it’s not a comic book character and in today’s climate that constitutes as original! Also to comment on melbye’s post- Real fans don’t watch Bootleg or illegal downloads. Why -because the Quality is substandard and it’s taking money out of the pocket of a legitimate industry! SAY NO TO BOOTLEG!

  8. I love these James Bod “What If” movies… What if James Bod was in Alcatraz (The Rock), and now, What if James Bod settled down, had some kids, and someone was stupid enough to tough a hair on their heads! Awesome.

  9. Whoa, where did this come from? Liam looks thin, fit and bad ass This is the first time in months that I’ve seen somthing for something that I would actually like to see.

  10. I found this movie when I went to Liam Neeson’s wikipedia entry, Google’d it and found the trailer on YouTube. I think I’ve watched it like 10 times since then and sent it to even more friends.

It came out in France in like, February or something, I’m glad to see that it’s finally making it over here, looks great.

  11. thats a great poster, the film looks interesting… if its anything like Man on Fire it’ll be worth seeing. Not such a bad thing being like a Bourne film… but walking out after 30 mins because other people said it was average? strange decision… but fair enough

  12. Liam is a great actor, the trailer like Matt said it’s like:

“Man on Fire” or even bit of touches of “The Limey ”

So, it should be a good thriller at best.

  13. I walked out of a free screening of this, not cas the movie was bad i only saw 3o mins of it, but the people i left said it was an average movie, something you wouldn’t think of again in your life. They said it was really like a bourne movie. seeing that poster makes me see what they meant. John i think you will be disappointed.
