Weekend Boxoffice Report November 26th-28th

Harry Potter magically finds itself on top again as American tryptophen addicts come out of their self induced comas and recover from irrational shopping trips, but the scraps do go to another family friendly animated feature by a close second with Tangled.

Megamind keeps its slow burn and holds on to a number 3 spot in its fourth week showing.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 – $50,345,000 – 2wks
Tangled – $49,100,000 – Opening
Megamind – $12,850,000 – 4wks
Burlesque – $11,800,000 – Opening
Unstoppable – $11,750,000 – 3wks

And not even Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway’s sexy romantic comedy or Dwayne Johnson’s return to balls out action could hold up against these titles as those two are squeaked out of the top 5 in the six and seven spot respectively.

I would have thought Burlesque would have ranked higher for its light but expected eyecandy entertainment, but nothing was going to compare to Harry Potter.
