Cars 2 is well into production and now that we have seen a poster and teaser we are learning about some of the voice cast joining supporting.
Here is the list of additional voice characters:
Michael Caine – seasoned spy Finn McMissile
Emily Mortimer – spy in training Holly Shiftwell
Jason Isaacs – spy jet Siddeley
Joe Mantegna – Grem
Peter Jacobson – Acer
Thomas Kretschmann – Professor Z
Star racecar Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and the incomparable tow truck Mater (voice of Larry the Cable Guy) take their friendship to exciting new places in “Cars 2” when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world’s fastest car. But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage. Torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile race and towing the line in a top-secret spy mission, Mater’s action-packed journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world.
I like the addition of these actors personalities as voice actors.
It always puzzled me that they would pay some big name to do voice acting when there are so many people out there that could do the same, but I will admit that when a voice with a lot of personality is heard on the screen, I enjoy it more.
Of course its also more for headline promotion and marketing.
Still Caine will ROCK as the seasoned Bond esque superspy Finn McMissle.
