No surprise that Paranormal Activity 2 has been dominating the boxoffice, and so far reviews have been mostly positive so I am sure that helps beating out the pranksters of Jackass 3. I was kind of hoping for Red to cling to the #2 spot as the Jackass crowd had enough, but they pretty much stayed the course for their second weeks.
Paranormal Activity 2 – $41,500,000 – Opening
Jackass 3-D – $21,600,000 – 2wks
Red – $15,000,000 – 2wks
Hereafter – $12,005,000 – 2wks
The Social Network – $7,300,000 – 4wks
The Social Network is still holding on to a Top 5 spot after HereAfter gets its wide release to set itself up in the #4 spot.
A quiet late October release of a spooky movie that sequels an insanely popular film? If that wasn’t number 1, I would have been shocked.
420 – 12 november my friend
Is it just me? I see nothin’ coming out anytime soon that gives me a “woodie” to go to the theatre
Not even Skyline? Cuz that’s giving me half a woodie
Skyline DOES look sweet, but that seems light years away! (watch me look stupid, and realize it comes out next week or somethin’)
I plan on seeing Paranormal Activity some time this week. I want to go when there isn’t much of a crowd because I can’t deal with crowds (at least in this city) in a horror film. I saw the new Woody Allen film at the indie theater by my house though. That was traditional allen and i found it to be quite enjoyable.
OMG! I saw the new Woody Allen film too this past weekend. It was good for the most part.
Totally man! I enjoyed it. I mean, like i said, it was traditional allen. The guy isn’t out to make groundbreaking films. He just likes to do fun character studies on romance and infidelity. Most of the fun is watching the great casts he puts together and seeing how they work under his direction. I get why certain critics weren’t taking to it, but again…allen isn’t trying to impress them. I liked it though.
