Reynolds is still Committed to Deadpool

Seems that Ryan Reynolds is still on board with Deadpool when they decide to make it and supers producer Lauren Schuler Donner has recently said in an interview that she’s talked to Reynolds about it and affirms his commitment to the role.

Reelcomix quotes Lauren Schuler Donner

“Ryan is so committed to being Deadpool. He is Wade Wilson. Well, no, he’s Deadpool. He is so committed to it that he worked with the writers on the script. Even though he’s doing Green Lantern, he’s stayed involved in that project. It’s very different. It’s like Harrison Ford doing Star Wars and Indiana Jones. DC and Marvel are different universes with different movies. But sure, the more popular and well known he is the better.I’m hoping we’ll get it off the ground next year.”

So we know that Reynolds is all for the role, and we know that Donner and Fox want to make a Deadpool film. But “when” is the big question.

WB/DC is preoccupying the star for their superhero film and Reynolds has other projects on the go too. He is one busy guy.

I just hope they do get him to play Wade Wilson Deadpool so we can ignore the last part of Wolverine and move on like Weapon XI was not Wilson.

  1. He’ll probably can pull this one off (Wade Wilson/Deadpool) while playing the other guy (Hal Jordan/Green Lantern). He’ll be having two franchises on two different comic book companies(DC and Marvel).

  2. I think this movie should have different prints like wolverine did. But instead of just changing the ending they should what he says when he breaks the fourth wall. That would so get me to see this movie multiple times.

  3. Yes, yes, YES!!!! This is exact news I’ve been waiting for. Reynolds is the freaking man, and I can’t wait to see him A) as Green Lantern and B) reprise his role as Deadpool. I once saw him do an interview when they first announced his spinoff movie, and it was so cool to see him talk about how much he understands the character and wants to do him justice.

Now DC and Marvel, you two place nice and share Reynolds. Then everyone wins.

  4. Woah! Havent been here in forever. Been in boot camp. But it was worth it, im a devil dog now.

i missed this site, ive been visiting it since 03 and never left. now Rodney, i love the new look. Anything new happened so far in the last 3 months? (ive been living under a rock in the last 3 months)

i thought reynolds was SET to play deadpool, what the fuck happened?

I for one dont think that it HAS to be him. I mean, we wont see Reynolds true face. And they already got away with using multyple actors for Deadpool before. The dude wears a fucking mask 99% of the time for fucks sake!

      1. Thank you!

Woah pixar and Marvel broke up? And i love the Green Lantern look. And why was that random ass dude chosen as Spiderman!? Im going to google him now.

Yes, i AM looking through TMB’s “Archives” to see the news of the last 3 months. And I like what I am seeing…well most of it. Im iffie about this spiderman. (why no Marry Jane, wth!!)

      1. Thanks Ty! Nice to be back. i visit this blog more then my FB.

And my friend Matt told me something that should really be considered, even though (in my opinion) there are 40,000 actors qualified to play this role… he said that it would be like spitting on his face because no one is as committed to this character as him and hes the biggest fan, not to mention after all his work, to tell him “no thank you- we appreciate your work, but we cant use you” is like giving him the biggest “fuck you and your mother” ever.
And thats true, sure thats not how business works, but i still think it would be shitty if they shit can him from this movie after all of this hes been through with the project.
