I was very much looking forward to Burlesque for a while now. Aside from my appreciation of the artform (for more reasons than the obvious titilation) the cast was looking pretty amazing. Even with a popstar trying to be an actress in the lead.
This feels like an overly elaborate Chistina Aguillera music video paying tribute to the trash classic Showgirls.
Kristen Bell is in there somewhere (she’s the one underestimating) and thats enough for me. Agulera is a great performer and the dance scenes and music are sure to be awesome.
And Cher? I’d say its great to see her again, but that girl hasn’t aged since the 80s. Alan Cumming? Stanely Tucci? Great cast.
But outside the singing and dancing parts that trailer was painful.
Still hoping this is just a bad trailer, as that cast looks poised to hold up this singer trying to be an actress thing pretty well.
This could be Christina’s Glitter, or Crossroads, or Gigli.
Or maybe not.

Ok. That was painful. And until she opened her mouth and sang, I didn’t even recognize that that was Christina Aguilera. Is it just me or does she look way different? And why does Cher slur all her words? She sounds like she’s had so many plastic surgeries that she can’t open her mouth all the way. ha ha! I think this is the meanest post I’ve ever written!

It is Christina. Its a look she doesn’t often go with, but its definitely her.
Amazing how 8secs into the trailer I’m already cringing. Just how she says “your kidding right” is just ass awful. Made me appreciate Beyoncés acting as bad as she is. Hopefully there isn’t a whole lot time spent between the singing and dancing parts in the movie as those probably are very good.
That trailer just exhausted enough clichés and predictable lines and scenarios for two sequels and a Saturday morning cartoon.
