Second Dinner for Schmucks Trailer Online

Dinner for Schmucks looked like a really funny Paul Rudd and Steve Carell movie with an interesting premise.

On the verge of getting the biggest promotion of his career, Rudd is introduced to a secret brotherhood that he must pass in order to get the job. He has to attend a dinner where the members invite idiots and make fun of them.

The imposing and climaxing voiceover bit at the beginning of this trailer completely ruins this for me. I liked the first trailer way better.

If I had seen this trailer first, I wouldnt have wanted to see it, but the last one had me.

I will just ignore this one, and go see it anyways.

  1. Oh how I miss 40 yr old virgin.

that was good, this looks blah.

but, trailers could be decieving from time to time and could go either way.

    well see.

Carell is wearing thin on me, Rudd is always fun though

  2. It’ll be interesting to see what they do with these. The cast alone should carry the film. I remember thinking the original was a good idea, but if memory serves (its been years since I’ve seen it) I thought the humor was a little too dry and didn’t work all that well.

If the humor here stays relatively deadpan and dry, but with these actors, I think it will be fun. If it gets all ridiculous and off the rails (in an “Anchorman” sort of way), it’ll probably be pretty unfunny, obvious and ultimately forgettable.
