Eddie Murphy talks about Another Klumps Film

Eddie Murphy got monologuing promoting Shrek 4 and got sidetracked about what is next for the now unfunny comedy legend. Seems he is planning to pitch another Klumps movie. Because clearly we haven’t seen Eddie play that many characters in a movie in a while now. Its obviously time for more fart jokes.

Access Hollywood quotes Murphy:

“You know what, there might be another ‘Nutty Professor,’” Eddie Murphy told Access Hollywood‘s Shaun Robinson at the LA premiere of “Shrek Forever After” on Sunday, breaking the news of the possible sequel’s latest development. “We kind of wrote something that might be kind of funny.”
Whether or not the film hits theaters, he added, depends on just how funny it is. “If the studios want to do it, we’ll do it,” he told Shaun. “If you don’t see it, the studio was like, ‘This isn’t funny.’”

I kind of vote for the “this isn’t funny” approach. The last one wasn’t and I don’t know if they could do that better.

And frankly someone has to hold Eddie down, put him in a leather suit and slap him anytime he says something the kids are allowed to hear. Maybe he is haunted by the judgemental looks of Bill Cosby everytime he thinks of doing a film where he swears.

I get that he wants to make films his kids can watch, but honestly I can’t wait for his kids to get old enough to watch rated R films.

I want old Eddie back.

  1. He needs to stop with this nonsense. He can’t be getting paid that much from these shitty films. Norbit, Meet Dave, and Imagine That all tanked at the box office. Not even families seem to be interested in these films from him. He needs to stop kidding himself and go back to what truly worked and made him the star he was.

    1. Norbit didn’t tank. 95 million in the US and 159 million world wide, on a 60 million budget.

But yes the other two did tank. Going back to Nutty Professor is just going back to a franchise that has made money.

      1. I didn’t say it was good or bad. I did say it did not tank, which generally refers to at the box office, as David mentioned.

Awful is your opinion. Twilight is awful in my opinion, but id be fool not see why they still make those movies.

  2. Couldn’t agree more. I still believe the Eddie Murphy of the 80’s and early 90’s is in there. I don’t have an issue with him making a kids movies here and there, but its all he does. He has fully succumbed to the quick and easy paycheck. David Spade hit the nail right on the head all those years ago on SNL and Murphy’s career wasn’t even as bad at point. I mean c’mon The Adventures of Pluto Nash, Norbit, Klumps…its all bullshit. He needs to prove to everyone that he’s still funny and not worry what other people think like Bill Cosby.
