Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind Comic-con event. Ballroom 20.

I know its popular for the kiddies to hate on Fox. Most complaints people have about that studio are the very same thing that every other studio does too. Its kind of amusing to watch all that hate get channeled because they manipulate their news and promote stuff like they are doing US a favour when we already know what they are up to.

They are like that distant crazy aunt who does something nice for you for ulterior motives and you just smile and nod and remember the $12 cheque she gave you for your birthday while you are helping her move.

Fox execs will be hiding behind the cardboard standies of the Simpsons, that show that is a lot like the Simpspons, and the spinoff of that show that is a lot like the Simpspons. Oh, lets not forget that sci fi animated comedy by the guy who created the Simpsons getting un-cancelled.

Now I know this is a press release publicity spin, but after Ausiello confirmed that 26 episodes of Futurama have already been ordered so the premise that a panel at SDCC would be the deciding factor for the return of Futurama (which of course I can’t wait for) is kind of poor spin.

The news that the forbidden 13th episode of the now saved Dollhouse will be shown at SSDC is dampened knowing I can just BUY it days after! Thank Zod!

And the softy in me is just gushing over Glee. Damn I am a sucker for inspiring melodies.

  1. “They (Fox) manipulate their news and promote stuff like they are doing US a favour when we already know what they are up to.”

    Manipulate Rodney?

I don’t agree with that, not one bit. I also find it curious as to why you say “I know its popular for the kiddies to hate on Fox” and then you follow it with a slight bit of it on your own. They don’t manipulate the news, Rodney. They report on it and comment on it from both right and left. They will always bring up fair and honest points.

You should leave FoxNews out of it.

There is, however, an equal, if not more hatred for Fox head exec Tom Rothman; I agree there is too much internet related hate of the man and his greenlight choices. If he actually made a correct choice-and I’m sure he has- would we ever notice it?

“Fox execs will be hiding behind the cardboard standies of the Simpsons, that show that is a lot like the Simpspons, and the spinoff of that show that is a lot like the Simpspons. Oh, lets not forget that sci fi animated comedy by the guy who created the Simpsons getting un-cancelled”

So Fox has the Simpsons…NBC has the Law & Order franchises and spinoffs, CBS has CSI, ABC has…well I don’t know what ABC has, what’s your point on this?

As for Futurerama, I’m also surprised that’s still around. I thought it was gone ages ago. But since it is an animated show, don’t they have to plan and/or animate shows in advance because it is an animated series? So maybe that “26” could be the last “26”? (But again, I thought the show was dead ages ago)

Also, I’d think they’d hide behind 24 now that Prison Break is done…I actually feel that and Dollhouse will be the better panels of the FoxTV bunch*
Of course, Katee will be there, so that’s an extra incentive for the 24 panel.

(*why not have a few show from the FX cable channel as well? Doesn’t anyone watch ‘Rescue Me’ anymore?)

    1. I’m dying to see what the whole Futurama thing is about.

What do they mean by “triumphant return” anyway? That they’re going to keep making the strait to DVD movies or is it actually coming back to TV as a series again?

  2. Now lets see how many of these shows will be canceled next year, JK. But seriously, I’m still pissed that they didn’t give TSCC another chance before pulling the plug. It was by far one of their best Sci-Fi shows that they had in their line up.

    1. Damn, I didn’t even know it got canned. They almost canceled it after it’s first season, just because they felt like it. Fox hardly gives any of their shows a chance, unless it’s that American Idol crap.

    2. @Kaneda979:

American Idol isn’t as expensive as most scripted shows and it is live. Other than that, it brings in the ratings.

I’m not entirely surprised Terminator got canned; the show wasn’t terrible, but I found it more enjoyable when I DVRd it- because I despised the opening “three minute flashback” and the abrupt act breaks, where it seemed there was for every 13 minutes of commercials, there was 6 minutes of each act- usually set in no more than two locations. Frustrating!

But then, there was the sad truth: the budget was high and it didn’t bring in enough ratings.

Yes, Dollhouse didn’t have strong ratings either, but that show had to cut back on costs in order to stick around.

    3. Also, Dollhouse won’t suffer from cutting costs because its not about effects very much at all.

Taking effects away from TSCC would have made it far worse. There was no saving it.

I like where they left it off. The show wasn’t canon, but it works.

  3. The Cleveland Show? Seriously? I was hoping by now people were finally realizing what a crap show Family Guy is, and they do a spin-off? Jesus man.

    1. LOL, Family Guy is now more popular and loved then it’s probably ever been. Be a hater all you want, but this show is gonna be around for a long time to come.

In fact, last I heard Seth MacFarlane is working on a Family Guy movie for the big screen and they’re planning to do spoofs of both The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, like they did with A New Hope.

      WOOT, Family Guy rules! >_<
