Moss, Byrne and Combs join Get Him to the Greek

Three new cast members have been added to the Forgetting Sarah Marshall spinoff Get Him to the Greek.

Elisabeth Moss, Rose Byrne and Sean Combs will be adding to the supporting cast that already includes Jonah Hill and Russell Brand.

Coming Soon says:

Written by Stoller, the story centers on a record company intern (Hill) who has two days to drag an uncooperative rock legend (Brand) to Hollywood for a comeback concert.

Moss will play the girlfriend of Hill’s character, while Byrne will take on the role of Jackie Q, a scandal-plagued pop star and love interest of Brand’s character. Combs will portray a record company executive

This movie has me tied in knots. I absolutely LOVED Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and the very best part of it was Brand’s aloof brit pop star Aldous Snow. But despite my love for this film, the one blemmish was Jonah Hill. His character was completely useless in this, and now he is going to be playing the same character. The waiter at the resort in Hawaii somehow made it to intern status at a major label and is using his “contacts” to try and track down Snow.

Elisabeth Moss stars in everything I have not seen in the last decade, and I don’t have any exposure to her at all, but she will be the romantic interest of the character I might pass this movie over, so I don’t know what to think about her. Rose Byrne is adorable, and I can’t wait to see her as a popstar that could keep up with Aldous.

And then there is Sean Combs (at least thats what he is calling himself this month) and “P Diddy” will be playing a record exec – so no big stretch there. I can live with that.

I will have to wait to see more to see if Jonah Hill doesn’t scare me off this entirely.

  1. I would like to see Combs play comedy, he’s always so serious both in person and the films he’s been in.
Seeing him do a fart joke or two might shake things up a bit.

  2. I can’t wait for this movie and the cast looks great so far. As far as Jonah Hill’s character it is a bit of a stretch to see him from waiter to record executive, but whatever. I still don’t know why Diddy is in this movie though. He’s really not a good actor at all. Hopefully it will just be a cameo.

    1. Diddy is in it because he IS a record exec and he is playing one. He isn’t an “actor” in this since he is really just being himself.

Jonah isn’t playing a waiter turned Exec, he is playing an intern. In Sarah Marshall, Hill is trying to push his demo on Snow, and has big dreams of being a star one day. Clearly they are writing in some sort of career path for the waiter/wannabe star.
