500 Days of Summer Trailer Online

At the end of the Oscars they showed some tidbits from some of the movies coming out this year and among them was 500 Days of Summer. Right away I was sucked in by the charm of the visuals and looked forward to seeing more.

Well now that the trailer is on the net, we can see more.

I find Zooey Deschanel to be infectiously attractive and I love everything I have seen her in (No, I have not seen The Happening) and I really like Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He hasn’t had a great deal of success once he grew out of his teen years, but I really think he has a lot of potential.

So take these two likable people and put them across from each other in an odd quirky love story and its a surefire hit to me.

  1. Those are two of my favorite stars, especially Levitt. I just finally got Brick the other day from Big Lots for a measly three bucks! Awesome! I’m not so ure about this G.I. Joe crap, but this movie looks awesome. And The Lookout was another good one, but if there are any fans who haven’t seen Mysterious Skin, I strongly advise you too right away, that was one of his best performances ever, even if the movie itself is hard to stomach.

  2. Who did the voiceover for that? Now that Don LaFontaine is gone, there is a dearth of good voice-over guys and whoever did this is pretty awesome and sounds vaguely like James Earl Jones.

  3. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a JGL performance, but if I’m not mistaken, based on the register of his voice, he’s finally gone through puberty.

  4. I will tell you straight out of the gate that if you are defining success as Superstardom – well, then you can say that Joseph Gordon Levitt has not been successful. However if you define it as starring in a number of vehicles that have been given critical praise aimed particularly at the performance than I would call THAT success. The Lookout was a great surprise, Brick was a stunning NOIR, and hell, I even watched him steal his scenes in Stop-Loss. I have more chance of seeing this film because he is in it.

But it still looks a little mushy for my tastes :)
