The Last Stand my ass. We’ve been saying for ages around here that X-Men 3 was NOT going to be the last X-Men film, and it looks like a report out of the LA Daily News confirms that today:
Exec producer Lauren Shuler Donner reports that renegotiations will be in order for the fourth installment of the big-screen sagas. “The newer cast members are signed, and the older cast members are not.” Considering the older names involved — Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman, Rebecca Romijn, Famke Janssen and Anna Paquin — that could run into a huge chunk of money.
Good grief… they certainly didn’t wait long. The thing is, if they do indeed go forward with X-Men 4, and I believe they are, I think we’re going to see some major cast changes. Especially with Halle Berry and Hurgh Jackman.
What will probably happen is a slightly smaller budget X-Men 4 WITHOUT Storm or Wolverine (since a spinn-off Wolverine project is already in the works). The X-Men universe is filled with some amazing characters that could be explored, and I think an X-Men 4 without Storm or Wolverine (although I LOVE Jackman) would probably be a healthy thing to see where the whole thing could go.

Kybok i thought the actress who played pyslocke was great her. She did it for me. If she gets put in x4 i personally think she will b played by her and not lucy lou because of the budget.

they dont necesserily have to change the actor for iceman, all they have to do is keep him in little scenes and computer alterate his looks to make him look older………
also, in x-3, pylocke was in the morlocks, you may remember her, josh and i and others would like to see lucy lui play pyslocke in x-4 because the character is supposed to be very martial artsy. lucy lui did that in kill bill and charles angels, now as far as changing that character goes, there are to solutions, one not EVERYONE noticed psylocke in x-3 so if we put her in x-4 they wont know, or, two, in the comics, psylockes spirit was swapped with a japanese assasin. her body was destroyed so she was stuck in the assasins body, if we change the actress to lucy lui then one of those 2 could be the excuse,
also ANNA PAQUIN SUCKZZZZZZZZZZZ, not as an actor but as rogue, rogue never whines as josh said, and so far thats all anna paquin has done, rogue is supposed to be the one that says ” snap out of it” shes always the one whos whipps people into shape, not gettin whipped into shape

OK, 1 more thing..Bryan singer should definetely return! Ratner is a good movie directer..but not right for x-men..He needs to set time apart on the characters as well..so maybe wolverine wont be in it as much..i think there should atleast be small scenes that follow him in the fourth one… The only really good thing that ratner did was the ending..thats wat the directors have in common! The endings are always crazy..it gives me chills to think about the ending of the third. Oh, also, i feel like punching some of you ppl! ya, okay,here are some details on kens story……
the sentinals should all be human sentinals(half cyborg half human)theyre called prime sentinals…maybe 2 or 1 actual real sentinal. but i think that there are only 2 probs with his whole sentinal plan……the sentinals were created by bastion…and the sentinals were featured as a danger room program…..
so heres my story(not to replace kens but these are minor adjustments to follow the comics) mister sinister could hire all these evil mutants, and bastion(who created the sentinals). bastion could send emma frost into the mansion to steal the danger room program disc-sentinal- and emma does it, so bastion uses that disc to make the sentinals and he does……..
also if i rmember right apocalypse created sinister, ya he did. but thats okay
sinister could create madelyne pryor and like ken said, she would tell cyclops that shes pregnant and at the end she could have the baby and it would be the future cable!
and, all those mutants that are bad like emma and gambit could be all under sinisters control then at the end they come out of it and join the x-men.
but i think all this kinda leaves out the brotherhood for a while……but it could show the brotherhood regaining their powers so they wont do as much then in x-5 they could come back and help the x-men defeat apocalypse.
now that was alot, but i kno its early but, here are sum ideas for x-5….
at the end very end of x-4, it could show sinister meeting up with mesmero and theyre in egypt, they could say something about apocalypses tomb and awakening him. then x-4 would be over, now in x-5, it should start out in ancient egypt with apocalypses past and then show the awakening and go from there……..the title should be age of apocalypse or en sabah nur.

i dnt agree with that pablosito. X3 was the best movie from all of the movies. It did go with the 2 other movies. It was showing how Jean Grey turned into the Pheonix. Its been done b4 and they wanted to show us how great his powers are.

first things first the third movie was an entertaining movie but not a good movie because the story line wasnt in line with the previous two films ( the switch of directors)he sucked he totally screwed up magnetos character i think magneto before was so smart in what he did in this one he just used his powers do destroy the crap out of stuff or lift a bridge to prove a point. anyway i noticed alot of u guys talkin about takin out wolverine or storm but if they do that then we’d all get pissed again because they already did that too nightcrawler for no apparent reason and they replaced the president with sum guy with a lisp which i found was really funny. anyway what im saying is that removing characters is gay because it leaves everyone wonderin i do agree with some people though rogue is really gay in the movies all she does is complain about being a mutant so i dont think that she should be a big part of the x men and i wanna see more of iceman and the juggernaut. but hey i noticed something u guys didnt na na na na na na mystique already did start to get her powers back in the third movie it was very noticeable unless you were lookin for it but if you dont know this mystiques eye turn that yellow colour when shes on camera or w/e in the third movie she tips of the goverment where magnetos base is and some guys are watchin it on camera and on the tv u see that her eyes are yellow so there! mystique has to be back because its the whole magneto and mystique couple thing u cant not have one of them and also i heard from my friend who like did a tone of research on x4 and he says its gonna be a nother trilogy and the villain is gonna be appocalypse and honestly i hope it is because the whole cure thing was gay it doesnt even count for a villain. hey does anyone esle want to see sentinels? i sure as hell do im thinkin that if the next x men are gonna be with appocalypse it will be like in the xmen legends game …for the most part at least. oh one last thing what happend at the very beginning of x3 when its like “in a not too distant future” and everything is blowing up and then wolverine kills the sentinel then it turns out they were in the danger room? was in the not too distant future what the danger room simulation was on or something?

Hi. ok im confused, havnt read the comics or never followed xmen. Apart from watching the movies 1 2 and 3. The people who get the cure ‘ALL’ return with there powers or just some O_o??
and another thing about that brotherhood thought ; sabertooth toad and the juggernaut! save blob for x5 6
o one more thing i think rogue needs to be older and be played by somone
else and she needs to have that acent but have the power to fly like when she regains her power she also discovers her new power to fly

Here’s my take for X4.
Since they’re doing trilogies of it. The next one can be focused on Mr. Sinister and Sentinels.
Xavier returns shocking everyone and takes over the house again. Wolverine should be in it but not so much. Show him leaving to discover his own past. Storm needs to be recast, I would say Angela Basset. Storm is suppose to be the “mother” of the group, remember. Everything seems well until they discover that the “cure” only worked temporarily. Once again, evil mutants are attacking all around and a new government creates the sentinels (they can be human sized since making them their actual size might look to fake or cost way too much) and have the ultimate sentinel be a giant one that only shows up in one part of the movie.
Iceman is with Kitty but the two don’t really hit it off. Rogue is leading a normal happy life and has a boyfriend but can’t forget her past. Eventually her powers start to return and she almost kills her boyfriend by accident. She runs away and is very depressed. She is humiliated by people from her town and is almost killed, and is safed by Gambit!! Who takes her under his wing. It will later be revealed Gambit is working for Sinister. Towards the end of X4, Gambit who is somewhat evil will be attacked by Ms. Marvel who is a minor character. Rogue who had fallen for him, attacks Ms. Marvel but can’t let go of her causing her to steal her powers and sending ms. Marvel into a coma.
Besides that, we also learn Phoenix tried to kill Cyclops but Jean Grey saved him. Cyclops was knocked unconcious and he was found by a goon working for Mr. Sinister. Mr. Sinister keeps Cyclops locked as he is using him as to re-create himself as more powerful. Cyclops refuses to co-operate, so Mr. Sinister creates Madelyne Pryor to manipulate him. Mr. Sinister also hires Mystique (after her powers return). Magneto will have a very minor role interacting with Xavier. Xavier can also start to form a relationship with Moira.
Storm buddies up with Wolverine (if he’s kept for a larger role) and also form a relation with a newly returned Nightcrawler. Kitty and Colossus also bond. Iceman gets an edge once he realizes that Rogue prefers Gambit over him, and Angel become smore involved (in later movies he can become arch-angel).
Mr. Sinister who is looking for more mutants to experiment with, manages to control Bolivar Trask (creator of the sentinels) and use them to capture mutants. The X-Men at first think, it’s the goverment who is using them but later learn of Mr.Sinister through Magneto. (It can be revealed his daughter the Scarlett Witch is working for him.)
The end of the movie is them rescuing Cyclops and other mutants (Emma Frost is also introduced as a bitchy telepath used to help Madelyne manipulate Cyclops but she also develope feelings for him) and battling an onslaught of sentinels and the main giant Master Sentinel. Mr. Sinister escapes and has managed to create some super mutant that will be known as Omega Red!!
Other cliffhangers include, Rogue going crazy after almsot killing Ms. Marvel. Gambit on the run, Iceman questioning his good ways, Cyclops allowing eveil Madelyne Pryor after she reveals she’s pregnant to excape despite knowing she’s not Jean).
Main Mutants: Xavier, Cyclops, Storm, Rogue, Gambit, Iceman, Nightcrawler and Beast.
Minor mutants: Colossus, Wolverine, Kitty Pride, Ms. Marvel, Magneto, Moira and Angel.
Villains: Mr. Sentinel, The Sentinels, Master Sentinel and Madelyne Pryor
Minor Villains: Emma Frost, Scarlett Witch, Bolivar Trask, Mystique.
I dont know how you could do an x Men 4 without the professor and if you get rid of Wolverine the movie will most likely not be as big of a money maker Wolverine is the man and storm is awesome!!!!
iv herd that ther changing most of the cast due too funds or w/e n thats just stupid. it will wreck the whole dinamics of the movies. and maybe would finish with x4. DNT DOO THIS, even if it means sticking bloody GAMBIT into it. just keep the cast as it is!!!!
Well the third movie disapointed me a little bit , but overall it was good .. And wtf are you considering a x4 movie withouth storm? she’s the main character and she has the most awesome power you can think off! And Wolverine was more in the spots then storm in the first 3 , i think , so it wouldn’t be bad withouth wolverine in the 4th one .. but it would be the nicest if just the whole cast came back ..And i think halle doesn’t play the rol of storm that bad , but also i can’t think of someone else who can play storm.. well i just hope there’s going to be a 4th movie because i’m a real fanatic of x-men!
(And people who think i hate wolverine , it isn’t like that , but i think he was just to much in the spotlights in the first 3 movies)

i dont know why there is all there is all this hype about bringing Gambit into x-men 4 … sure he worked as a character in the comics .. but for a live-action movie, a character that throws cards to kill his enemies would never work .. i would love to see Nightcrawler again in the next sequel

the reason x men is loved by everyone is cause of the actors. recasting would be x -mens downfall and that would kill me.
no matter what characters they put in x4 the originals should stay. GAMBIT should be in it. i love mystique she should get a good role but then again i love all the mutants. i guess i’ll leave it to the professionals. phoenix should have ‘fire’ if she returns it would look wicked. singer is cool but he should have never left. x4 should be longer as well, 3hrs would be a good length to include good fighting scenes and a decent plot. if characters need big role then why not an x5. it can never die cause there is so much to go by. unlike other marvel movies.

I would love more than anything if they did a NIGHTCRAWLER movie. he has the best story and backround involving his mother, MYSTIQUE, throwing over a bridge as a baby which led up to him being adopted and joining the circus. theres action, romance, deaths, what more do u want?

I don’t care much about any other characters except NIGHTCRAWLER. I don’t know why he wasn’t in part 3 and i was very dissapointed to see so. I think the new villain should be the apocolypse. i would also like to see: Gambit, Jubilee, angel, bishop, emma frost, iceman, collosus, wolverine (of course), juggernaut, beast, mystique, cyclopes, and storm.
I don’t know whether i am going to get crucified or not here but honestly Singer sucked as a director and Ratner breathed new life into the franchise X3 was exactly what i wanted to see….a plausible story and LOTS OF ACTION, and i got all of that.
I went back and saw x2 again after watching x3 and it was boring in comparison. When x4 comes out i hope its Ratner again….cause he was amazing, having said that i did feel x3 was a lil rushed and would have been more decent if it was about 20 mins longer….

I agree with most of the comments posted. I think the first 2 movies had a much darker and deeper feel to them that most fans latched on to (myself included). I enjoyed the third movie as a summer blockbuster, but solely that…it turns out that most comic book fans grew up imagining these comics as real life, so when a movie that at first re-lives that, but then becomes a cartoon (or almost), it is very disappointing. Needless to say, I think they are going somewhere with the story. I agree. The main characters (Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm), have caused to much trouble…off screen that is…to keep them on set, and Barry just isn’t good enough to keep up all that crap. Hugh Jackman is a decent actor, but it has come down to the fact that he takes away from the story, much like Tom Hanks in Da Vinci code…fans start watching Tom Hanks act, instead of the character in the story.
I personally have loved Colossus since I was a child, and was not disappointed in the 3rd movie because anyone who pays attention to the comic books knows that he was quiet, and Ratner used this to make the storyline less complex. I respect that, but hopefully in the fourth movie, since the big actors will be gone, they can develop his character more…besides, many people relate very well to the big silent characters.
I also agree that Beast needs to be there, because like someone else said, he is essential to maintaining the integrity of Xavier’s school.
Iceman obviously should stay, and could be the centerpiece for a new story, but not too much, or he’ll turn into a new Wolverine.
And Finally, I completely agree that Rogue needs to get her powers now…I was really getting sick of her character basically doing nothing, and whining the whole time. Someone needs to figure that out.
On a real quick side note, I believe the Mr. Sinister holding Cyclops is a great storyline (or even Apocalypse). It could be a story that is relatively close to “Giant Sized X-Men” released many years ago… and if you don’t know what I’m talking about, you shouldn’t be on this forum.
I don’t know if it was mentioned, there were just to many replies. But, I think apocalypse would be a great addition to X-Men 4. Okay, he was mentioned like two replies ago. but anyway, maybe the age of apocalypse thing would be a nice beginning for another movie.

I think Gambit should deffinatly star in this movie. As it would be nice to see Wolverine take a back seat and let either Beast, Ice Man or Gambit take the lead.
Also, I think you guys need to lay off Halle Berry (Storm) I think that she was great in X3, finally Storm was giving the screen time she deserves. She should deffinatly return, but maybe in a smaller role and give Jubilee and Kitty more time on screen.

Gambit is a southern cajun gambler and theif. he loves cards he does tricks with them and whatnot. throwing cards is not his power. i think josh will agree with me on this.

1)a grenade could be thrown at jean and she could make a shield around it freezing itin motion and moving it over the enemy then letting it explode

The problem I see with all of your suggestions, is that they don’t seem to take into account the fact that these are MOVIES… not the comics.
You can’t just do everything you do in a comic on a movie screen.
The moves andthe comics are two different things. Making the movies more like the comics wouldn’t solve anything.

I thought the X men 3 movie was done really well. I must comment on that first. I really didn’t see any of that comming which to some people… I know I might sound dumb, but I really enjoyed it. I really didn’t understand the ending though… but I think if I watch it over and over, I might be able to figure it out though.
This new X men 4… wow… your not going to have Hugh Jackman, that is going to be interesting… because he is such a main character.. but then again.. the comics didn’t exactly follow Wolverine as the leader… mostly Cylcops… and how he was supporting professor Xavier’s point of view… and besides… Wolverine didn’t even come into the comics, until the 1970’s anyways. The original cast, from the X men book was: Beast Iceman, Cyclops, and Jean Grey.
Ok.. now my opinion on characters comming in… and reviews on the characters. Well I thought Wolverine did a good job… because a lot of the character’s that were there were younger and all so they did need a boss eventually in time. It was neat that Storm though was there helping out too…because she is a major role in the X men films… and came into the X men comics same time Wolverine did.I liked the fight betweeen Iceman and Pyro… because in the comics and tv series those two always get into fights, at least once during the series. I liked Colossus, I like how he is getting involved with the X men. I do like Kitty, but she’s kind of hard to work with, cause her mutant power is limited. I mean, don’t get me wrong though I would love to have that power. I want to see Bobby and Rogue’s relationship to continue… but how I don’t know. I am excited to see how Beast and Angel will come about… because they kind of just left Angel out… after his seens, I liked how he came in the end… again. I think he did. Then there is Magneto’s side. I love multiple man… I thought he was awsome… but I guess he is kind of a limited character to do much with unless you focus more time on his ability. Juggarnaut was interesting. I wouldn’t mind seeing him again. Calisto.. I don’t understand though… exactly because she’s from the morlocks or something like that, why exactly would she work for Magneto.. or was it just for the reason of getting out. I like mystique, but I didn’t like how she lost her powers…that sucked.
Are the going to bring back… Sabertooth, ever… I really like him… especially the rival between wolverine and him… and Nightcrawler would be cool to bring back… is that to hard to.

Gambit rocks..i heard for the X3 before his role was cut Channing Tatum auditioned for the role..however, i believe…that we’ve all gotta chill on the statement for one..the newer characters are evidently will be have signed mainly cause they’ve prolly just auditioned and casted…if we just chill out in a couple of weeks maybe months you’ll get a statement, ensuring us that the main characters are coming back..they always do this..wait for the last to recast the favourites…plus, why would they give that away just yet…they just want to keep us all guessing still…you know how movie producers are keeping us in the dark until the last minute to promote their movies..plus around dvd time we’ll be sure to get more news about the matter…sooo just chill..some of you have really good ideas about the next movie…i think they’re best bet is doing apocolypse and mister sinister…plus that kid who kept on saying that cyke is dead…errm he prolly isn’t an true x-men fan….

Ok, some of you guys REALLY have to calm down! Remember, we are talking about Hollywood here. Which, unfortunately, knows how to F-up a good thing. Anyway… Yes, i do agree with some of you on a couple of things: 1) X3 was not exactly the arousing adventure that i was expecting (like X2 was). 2) Ratner, took the last movie of the trilogy and killed it. 3) Ms. Berry (even though she is incredibly talented and beautiful)… Storm’s character, was not right for her. 4) Last but not least, we (die hard xmen fans) would not miss Wolvie so much if he’s not in the next trilogies. Like someone stated before.. in X Men, there are many characters and situations that you can play with.
There are ways that, if the right individual.. Mr. Singer… would come on board, then this franchise would be able to be ressurected in the way that it should be. Now, I have been thinking hard about this and yes.. beleive ti or not, you can bring the “ded” back to life. Remember.. this is not reality folks!! Thats what so great about it. How? You might be thinking? Well, listen to this and let me know what you think?
I’m going to break each character: 1) Wolvie: Hugh was great in playing him.. but stop me if i’m not mistaken… in the comic book.. want wolvie supposed to be this beefy, short guy with a really bad short temper? what happened to that? the temper part started nicely in X1 but then he just got too soft. Plus, to me.. sorry for saying this.. he is too short. My advice and think about this guys.. whats about James Caan son… Scott Cann? hmmm.. come on.. work with me here. He’s short, got the hole wolvie look going, plus, he’s already built.. just give a personal trainer and BAM!! instant WOLVERINE baby!! plus, he’s a pretty good actor.
2) Storm: Stop me if i’m wrong but.. what in the workd happened to her accent? I’m sorry Ms Berry.. i love you but come on… u start something you keep! Plus, like i stated before.. Berry is just to “hollywood” for that character. Storm is a robust, no holds barred woman. thats why i love. Keep her for the other movies. Now.. once again.. tell me if i’m wrong for saying this.. but, i think Angela Bassett would make a terrific Storm. She already has a physic that’s just incredible (check her out in the real life of Tina Turner movie.. “Whats Love Got To Do With It?”)… you’ll see what I mean. Plus, she has that attitude that she can be suave, tough and a lady all at once. Another thing.. i would be able to swallow seeing her with an African Tribe’s accent more then Ms. Berry. (sorry about that Berry.. but remember…I STILL LOVE YOU!!)
3) Nightcrawler: WHY IN THE WORLD DIDNT THEY BRING HIM BACK FOR X3? Can someone PLEASE explain that to me! the only thing i heard about that was the actor who played him, Alan Cummings.. was acting funny about the whole contract thing. oh well, i thought he did a great job with bringing that character out. now take your head out of your butt and sign the damn contract for the next X movie or ELSE!! LOL
4)Magneto: I’m sorry but why do Magneto looks like he’s 90 years old? i do not mean to make fun of Ian McCullen (a great actor and very much liked by me especially) but come on folks!! you are telling me that they could not get anyone else to play him? what about that guy who played the villian in Die Hard 3? he, to me, would be a perfect Magneto. Not too young, yet not too old. Looks bad ass and willing to throw down whenever and where ever. Think about it! Magneto’s power comes back to him, since the sirum wears off after a while.. but, only does so for the really powerful mutants. HA!! i bet you see where i’m going with this.. dont you?
5)Cyclops: i thought James Madeson, was perfect for the part. Now, I have come up with an idea on how to “bring him back” sort of speak. In X3 we did not really see him die. What if, the real Jean Grey was able to Telepathically put a “cocoon” around him, protecting him? Now remember, in the comic books, that’s what the real Jean Grey, subconciously did, in order to protect her realself, while the Dark Pheonix went to do her thing. Also, Jean and Cyclops are telepatheticaly connected! So why not… have her also, subconsciouly protect Cyclops? Think about it.
6)Rogue: Now she is one of my favorite X men. Southern, sexy, vulnerable but can be a badass on top of that. Ann Paquinn.. did a good job but i was not “feeling her”, as they say. beleive it or not… and u might hate me for even remotely bringing this up.. but.. i was thinking about either: Jessica Beihl (seventh heaven, texas chainsaw) or… get ready for this one.. Jessica Simpson! Think about it. U seen her on Dukes of Hazard. She can carry a southern slang, look hot and somewhat bulk up. her acting is not all that bad. It wont win her an Academy Award anytime soon.. but hey.. who cares. I think she could carry that part. Jessica Beihl.. well, she’s just gorgeous.. them lips, thighs.. ooh my!! LOL plus, she can carry a role very well. plus, as i stated with Magneto.. she’s a very powerful mutant. so, the sirum will also die out in her. I thought it would be cool to show her making out with Iceman, then suddenly he starts losing conciousness due to the fact that her powers are gaining momentum again. Putting him in the hospital! now, that’s what a call.. umm.. u know.. lol
7)Iceman: Nothing need to be said. That actor.. i think it’s Bill?.. Did a great job. Just give him a bigger role this time around.
8)Kitty Pride: Same as #7.
9)Colosous: Now this cracks me up. The actor they picked.. thought he was pretty good.. the physic and look was, to me.. pure Colausous…but.. WHAT IN THE WORLD HAPPEND TO THE RUSSIAN ACCENT THAT HE WAS SUPPOSSED TO HAVE? That’s my only problem with that character. Oh.. bigger role too, please! Thank you..
10)Xavier: Patrick Stewart… did an amazing job with the character. once again.. to me.. he looks way too old for the part. No offense, Captain.. i mean.. Mr. Stewart! lol with Xavier’s character, i thought they could have done better,with a younger actor.
11)Angel: great actor selection. even though his role was not that big.. but i thought he did a good job. Once again.. need bigger role in next movie.
12)Mystique: Love her! Rebbecca, did a great with that character. Seductive and powerful. Now as for her.. i was thinking.. keep the actress.. but her story would be that, she gains her power back, after the sirum affect wears off, wants revenge on Magneto, due to the fact he left her there, alone (when she actually saved him and his powers by jumping in front of the sirum while it was being fired to Magneto’s back by the security guard). i would be a little pissed off myself too. Anyway, she finds a way to trick Rogue into helping her but in the process, Rogue accidently sucks out the lifeform from a very powerful, strong mutant.. rendering this mutant unconscious and in long comma. **If you are a die hard fan of the x men, you know eaxctly what i’m talking about.** Think about it.
13)Beast: PERFECT. No comment.
14)Jaugurnaut: Same as #13. Bigger Role.
Well, that’s it for now. Just some of the things that i was thinking when i finished watching that X3 . Huh, Last Stand.. my ass!! Yeah hopefully for Mr. Ratner!!
I’m okay with Ratner returning to helm more movies, but would like to see him involve a little more character emotion like the first two movies did, which is what made them so good. X3 was a fantastic movie and the action/special effects were great too….just needed to spend a little more time with the characters.
Not sure on whether they should have Jean return or not — depends on how they’d decide to bring her back into the picture again.
They should definitely take their time, if the decision is made to make more X-films — possibly wait 3 years so that they can build up the hype and desire for more films in this series, plus keep a little space between this and the Wolverine spin-off coming out.
Hey,for you who should direct the 4th?I loved X3,and I think that if Ratner will do this one,with many time,he will do a better work.John Powell has done a great job with the musics and I think that he should return.Apocalypse is a great enemy,he and Sinister would be perfect,but what could be the title of the movie?Uncanny X-men?And what about Jean?Should she return?Ah,and when the movie should come out?
Great storyline Doug….all we can do is hope that this all happens as it would make for a great new trilogy for this franchise. Apocalypse would make for an awesome villain that could definitely be used over multiple films.
The only disappointing thing that would have to be missed out for the 4th, etc…films would be that Calispo is dead and she would have been a nice touch again for leading the morlocks.
I personally think in the fourth…Apocalypse should be brought in.. especially after how the villians in the other 3 were regular humans trying to get ride of the “mutant problem”. Apocalypse has always thought of mutants as being superior, and after the agressiveness of the humans in the last one…that could be what sparks the whole “survival of the fittest”. Also, Mr. Sinister could be in it as well as Apocalypse’s right hand man( but with his own agenda) and help apocalypse in attracting/capturing some former mutants to restore there powers and possibly creating the horsemen. I could see Mystique wanting her powers back. Rogue not so much, but i could see Apocalypse wanting her because of her powers(or former powers), and using the newly restored Mystique along with Sinister to take her unwillingly and restoring her powers and then some(similar to how she was after the Ms. Marvel incident) and Rogue could be the new War. Cyclops could easily have been taken by Sinister(since he always is watching just like apocalypse) in x3 since you never really seen him killed and could have been held captive for unknown reasons(maybe some testing). Angel could also be taken to be recreated into Archangel. Maybe even find Caliban(together with marrow, avalanche and a few other morlocks that weren’t humanized) , the meak original version, and turn him into the huge monster he became in the comics. Wolverine could be gone during all this(show him in the beginning leaving how he does with his own agenda), and also introduce a few other mutants into the mix similar to Generation X/new mutants(boomer, husk, gambit, warpath, emma frost)along with a late teen havok coming/joining when he hears about his brothers “death”..developing characters and Apocalypse’s agenda in the 4th and having it end with apocalypse and his new horsemen doing something huge at the end(an attack on the capital/assassination or something really dramatic) and leaving it to be continued…into x5. where it shows mutants fighting mutants…trying to stop apocalypse and crew…dealing with former team members gone bad. The X-men call up people from the past to help(wolverine, nightcrawler) and the remaining few morlocks come to the x-men to help get caliban back.. you then have an all out mutant war basically…kind of like an age of apocalypse style….maybe not as dramatic(even though i loved that storyline)…having humans involved but not nearly as much as the past films.. Rogue and archangel will get through apocalypse mindmanipulation with the help of emma frost, rejoining the x-men. end with the mutants crippling Apocalypse’s forces, mystique fleeing, and causing Apocalypse, caliban, & Sinster to retreat into the shadows..apocalypse severely injured…with apocalypse vowing to exterminate the mutants who turned on their own kind…the end fades over to Sinster standing where cyclops had been held(seeing him in the distance getting away)…and shows jean grey(Madelyn Pryor),drenched, walking out from the shadows, somewhat in a daze, and walks up to sinister…looks at him in confusion… and ends with sinister laughing…

Hey, it’s ok Brandon. I agree that wolverine should continue in the series as well as being played by Hugh. Rogue may not necessarily be human. I think they used “the cure” as a way for her powers to evolve. Besides, then they can’t play out the love triangle w/ her, Gambit, and Iceman, if they let her go, and don’t bring him in. Jean Grey they may have just silenced her and Cyclops, so they could evolve the characters…they did that in the comics and cartoons from time to time. Magneto and Wolverine both have spin-offs. Professor X always seemed to die and then come back as well. They may come up with some elaborate reason why “the phoenix” didn’t really kill him. Storm, easily played by someone else. Beast, want him back. Who knows maybe they will start x-4 with Professor X working with Jean Grey trying to keep “the phoenix” under control….or was it all a dream…..aaahaaahaaaa! :)

SPOILER……..Being that you’ve seen X3, you obviously saw that Magneto was regaining his powers again which doesn’t rule out the possibilty of several others (Rogue, Mystic, etc…) regaining their powers too.

If they do another movie or two….possibly involve Apocolypse as the main bad guy and involve him over 2 movies instead of smashing everything into one film.
As far as bringing back some of the originals, Wolverine could be expendible in X4 — maybe bring him back for the final battle in X5 and Storm would be important to have back as she’s great as that teacher/leader of the younger mutants.

I noticed people were saying storm cant come out because she is now the owner of the school. They can’t take out Logan or Storm. Wolverine is one of X Men’s biggest charactors! And Storm is the new owoner the school. Taking them out is like Mr. Fantastic being taken out of the Fantastic Four. The ratings might even drop. But they could put in some caractors like Scarlet Witch orsomeone.

I guess they could bring back Xavier in a new body (recast) since they set that up all nice, “Search for Spock” style.
I’m not big on the X-men (more of an Avengers guy myself), but I’d love it if they brought back Nightcrawler. He was always my fave. Alan Cumming was great in X2, but you could hide another actor in all that makeup if need be.
I’d also love to see Gambit but that’s just because I’m cajun. It would rock if they could get Harry Connick Jr. to play him. He might be too old for it now, but if anyone is gonna mangle the cajun accent it should at least be a New Orleans native.
As for chicks, they haven’t done Jubilee yet, or Emma Frost.
As for the Villains, you could bring in Magneto’s kids, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. Have them leading a new crew of mutant henchman while Magento’s off in the looney bin. And throw in some real Sentinels this time!

You need a director with a strong vision who understands proper narrative. If Fox signs on a looser like Ratner we are in big trouble. And if they keep Ratner we are in even bigger trouble.
Why not just skip X-4 and move on to X-5?
wasn’t storm in charge of the xmen? ressurect cyclops if she’s gone? i doubt beast will want anything to do with it…. crap! the whole thing sounds horrible, GAMBIT should show off in his own story or somehow be involved in the wolverine spin off– which sucks cause it’s a prequel, and considering wolvie never left the mansion in x3… it’s just stupid.. complete stupid, unless it’s about a quick cheap way to make a buck out of a franchise… but i mean.. it’s not like hollywood to do that.[sarcasm]
Trey: Cyclops is not killed in the Phoenix Saga. (Though in a late 90s storyline from when I wasn’t reading comics, I think he may have been presumed dead for a brief time. Needless to say he’s back safe and sound.) Honestly, X-3 has very little in common with the Phoenix Saga of the comics, save that it involves a powerful Jean Grey who dies at the end.
I have to admit, I was disapointed with X-3. As a movie it was decent (but nowhere near as good as Singer’s films), but as a fan of the comics and Singer’s X-Men movies I was quite disappointed by the choices they made (it could have been MUCH better).
Still, I’m willing to approach X-4 with an open mind. I think it could be pulled off without Wolverine and Magneto (much as I love both actors), though Xavier probably ought to be there (they’ve already set it up at the end of X-3) and, unfortunately, the movie continuity seems to require Storm to be there too.
Whatever they do they… I hope it’s not about the government vs. mutants _again_. Yes, that’s an important theme for X-Men but it’s not the only theme.
And of course I’d love to see Singer back, but let’s face that’s not going to happen. Despite my feelings about X-3, I wouldn’t mind having Ratner back, as long as he’s involved from the start. It’s still my contention that the shuffling of directors and rushed schedule (and half-baked script) caused most of X-3’s problems.

I’m not surprised by the news and I completely agree, they can go ahead without Storm. I would like to see Wolverine but I’m happy to wait for the dedicated movie. I do hope that Rogue is back for another installment because I love that character and Paquin. I hope they manage to sign her up for a return.
I wouldn’t mind seeing Wolverine take a break. He wasn’t even half the roughneck he should’ve been in the last 3 flicks. Wolverine should be a lumberjack pirate mixed with Dirty Harry, in terms of sheer manliness.
Hugh Jackman was sort of on the right track in the first movie (even though I didn’t dig the first movie much at all), and when he started slashing soldiers up in the 2nd one, I was thinking they were starting to get the character a little better, but then after that scene he just kept acting like a little Cyclops/Wolverine mix instead of his own character.
I wouldn’t mind another guy putting his own spin on Wolverine a few years down the line. The way I see it, though, aside from ‘The Dark Knight’ and it’s sequel, the superhero genre’s about ready to pass out and leave for a while. Superman’s box office is pretty good evidence of that.
I do agree that Hugh Jackman shouldn’t come back as amazing as he was. Also I don’t really think he would come back even if he could. I mean if I was an actor I would thing playing the same character 4 or 5 times would get old. Also his career is going great he doesn’t need to be Wolverine anymore. He did Van Helsing which most people hated but I will admit I enjoyed the cheese and it made 120 dom and made 65 million in its first week of DVD sales. Then he did romantic comedy type stuff but now he has the Fountain coming out which is going to be great but not make a ton of money because of the great but unconfentional director. He has other stuff lined up as well and he is playing Wolverine in his own film so playing this guy over and over could get boring for him and for us. I do think though instead of doing the Nightcrawler just have him dissappear and never mention him that they should have him in the first 10 or 20 minutes and having him need to leave for some reason and not follow him.
Storm as bad as she is(Ms.Barry) needs to be back because of the story of X3 but I don’t think it would be bad to get another actress cause Barry sucks and I think most agree. beast needs to be a main guy. Also Icman has now come into his own and is very adult know so he can be a bigger part not to mention the actor is pretty good at playing Bobby. Rogue needs to get her powers cause it’s been 3 movies and she still doesn’t have them. Obviously she can’t get them from Miss Marvel but then create someone like here and do the same thing. Xavier is tricky though, cause seeing someone elses body with Patrick’s voice would just be creepy so Im not sure what they would do there. Also if they want the series to movie on in a different direction then maybe he shouldn’t be there(makes me sad I love him). I noticed even though these changes should be made they do make me said cause the original cast was great but change must occur at some point down the line and I think that point has been reached.
Angel should be there, at least at the school cuase of that one scene in the film.
Beast with Xavier and possibly Magneto gone would be horrible cuase Beast brings a new class to the film and to loose him with the others you would have a movie with no class and thats no fun.
There are many more things like Gambit, Emma Frost, other school kid, villians and so on to talk about but I think this is enough for now.
The biggest thing is get rid of Ratner and don’t make a MCmovie I understand some people are like hey chill its just summer fun but the first two films weren’t set up like summer popcorn they really went out of their way to make a memorable series and X3 killed that vibe. Also don’t try to rush meaning Ratner was signed and started filming in November and the movie was out im May that is sick. Pre-production was like 1 month filming was 9 weeks I believe and the rest was post that is also why it cost so much because they have to have everything done fast.
So there’s my rant enjoy.

We asked James about a spinoff for his character of Cyclops; he kind of danced around the subject, but did say, “Yeah, I think this is going to be – no, no, I, um – I have no idea. I don’t think that they’re doing a Cyclops spin-off, but, if they’re doing a 4th one, I don’t know, I doubt it. I think they’re just going forward with the Wolverine spin-off, I think with Hugh (Jackman).”
Even though it’s supposedly a prequel for Wolverine, James said he’d love to join the cast if he’s asked. “It’s prior to our meeting in the first film. Yeah, I feel very lucky to be a part of those films and great affection for the comics and for those characters and I feel very lucky to be a part of it and I would. If they’d have me, I’d be a part of everyone they did.”
Wolverine is set for a 2007 release; currently David Ayer is re-wrting the orginal David Benioff script.”

I actually completely agree with you John, on this one. For some reason, I found the ‘Storm’ character rather lame. Jackman did a great job with Wolverine, yet he seems out of place with the X-Men, probably the reason he did so well on his own. (I actually bought the first ‘Wolverine’ comic series many years ago, and it rocked!)
Hopefully, they’ll develop Colossus and Rogue. They definitely need a slightly new direction, maybe an alien foe.
I will be glad not to see Storm return. I wasn’t very thrilled with X3. I hope the next one is it’s own take and not a sequel to X3.
I would love to see Beast by Grammer again. Maybe Iceman and Kitty.

I didn’t keep up with the comics quite as well as I should, but did they kill off Cyclops in the Phoenix Saga? I think X4 will be fine as long as they don’t call it Evolution. :)
Honestly, can someone please tell me what the big deal is with Gambit? I don’t understand why people like him so much.
X 4 could survive without Wolverine, he’s been known to wander before; however with the way they ended with X 3 I think the character of Storm needs to remain.
In my opinion the best moves would be to recast Ms Barry with an actress who actually has the screen presence to play Storm and then get rid of Ratner. If that is accomplished then perhaps this franchise won’t take a complete noise dive.
X4 will do better without Wolverine. He overshadowed the last films and what X-Men is really about. We saw hardly any teamwork, just Wolverine saving the day. There was never a chance to focus on other characters such as Colossus or Angel. X4 wil benefit without him. There are plenty of more character to focus on such as Beast, Angel, Iceman and bring in characters such as Gambit.

There are several characters in the X-Men Universe but some of them are always or at least usually featured in the comics. Wolverine and Magneto are staples in the X-Men series as well as Xavier. I wonder what characters they will use in this new film. Maybe they could touch on Colosuss in this upcomming movie or maybe Emma Frost.
