Last House on the Left Trailer Online

Posted by on 09. 01. 2009in News Chat

The Wes Craven Classic Horror film, Last House on the Left is getting a new take. And who better to make the new version than the master of horror himself – Wes Craven.

Check out the trailer

This does qualify under TMB’s 4 Rules Before Making a Remake, so I have no problem with this.

Want to see what the original was like? This trailer wouldn’t make me want to see it, but its amusing to watch how stuff was advertised 36 years ago.

    Its only a Movie..Its only a Movie…Its only a Movie…Its only a Movie

That new trailer is pretty damn sweet. It’s got me interested.

Holy crap… that original trailer looks like a fake grindhouse tarantino trailer.

  4. Brad says:

This should be very interesting. The original is a very disturbing movie, and is difficult to watch. This new vision seems to focus much more on the parents and how they deal with the bad guys. The original spent much time on the rape and murder of the two young girls “on her sweet 16 no less” only later showing the turn of the parents.

    Should be good.

    fuckign sweeeet

  6. Its been a while since I saw the original but I remember it was really raw and disturbing. This trailer looks good!

Trailer looks good enough. I strongly disagree with rule #1 for remakes. A better idea would be to remake movies that had potentially had a great story but ultimately messed up the story.

  8. AARON says:

looks good, but unfortunately it doesn’t please me to see it, but it does look interesting

wooooow i thought it would be a really lame trailer……but i’ve watched it about three times so far i like it so much. looks like an awesome movie! hopefully it is good

I think that trailer does look pretty sweet, despite the bastardized version of Sweet Child O Mine. I swear to God no one should be allowed to even attempt that song besides Guns. Anyway, this subject reminded me of something I wanted to ask, whatever happened to Serena who used to write for the Movie Blog? She was the big horror fan on this site. I always meant to bring that up.

oh wow, that original trailer was damn awesome!!! I couldn’t wipe the smile from my face….”It’s only a movie…”

The remake definitely looks like a watcher though…having said that, I really want to watch the original too.

  12. Rodney says:

Serena is still a good friend to the Movie Blog crew. She is out on her own writing for more horror specific websites.

That’s a pretty cool cover of sweet child at the end.

  14. Caitlin says:

Wow. I’m actually pretty excited about this one. It’ll be great to see what Wes Craven changed from the original. I mean, it’s one of those rare times where we actually get to see what a director would do to his film if he got to do it over again. I guess that means I’ve got to see the original now..

  15. Ty says:

I saw the original the other night and I really didn’t see what the big deal was. I guess there’s just a generation gap..plus I’ve seen so many horror movies that it takes a good amount of something before I start to actually be affected.

Oh wells, I wanna see the new one.

The whole remake was totally unnecessary and I have to say that I get nothing but nauseated from movies like this. Cravens adaptation is a clawing slasher neg-fest and I just can’t find any point to it.
