Thomas Haden church looks to be turning to indie films as he prepares to take on a drama with Elisabeth Shue.

Thomas Haden Church is set to star in Animus Films’ indie drama Don McKay with Elisabeth Shue, Melissa Leo, M. Emmet Walsh and Keith David. Jake Goldberger is directing from his own script.

The story centers on a man haunted by a tragedy that forced him to flee his hometown 25 years earlier who returns when he finds his long-lost love is dying — and is then caught in a web of confusion, deceit and murder.

I really like Thomas Haden Church. Back when he was just Lowel on Wings I never thought he would amount to much more than a comic relief supporting actor, but he has proven that to be wrong. Don’t judge him because of Spiderman3, go watch Smart People.

And I don’t mind big name talent getting behind some small indie film. I actually applaud it. There are some great indie films out there that deserve the kind of attention his involvement would bring to the project.

Judging by that pic of him, I think Church could remake the Ernest franchise!

Haden Church is awesome. Best thing about Spider-Man 3 (one of the only good things about the film)

This movie is filming at the pharmacy I work at on Tuesday in Andover, MA. Elisabeth Shue and Thomas Haden Church will be in here along with the 40 members of the crew. Maybe I’ll be in the movie in the background!

I drive tractor trailer for a living and just had a residential delivery in N.Andover Mass. in the neighborhood they are shooting in. It was pretty cool to see everything that goes into shooting a film.Plus, my last name is MacKay,pretty wierd!
