McGowan and Rodriguez Break Up

You know what they say about inter-workplace relationships?

Don’t.

If and when it all falls apart, it all gets messy and jobs are never the same. In Hollywood this is a little harder to avoid, but still not something we associate with long term success. (There are rare exceptions)

So when Rose McGowan started dating director Robert Rodriguez, they seemed to be going out of their way to work together. It seems that they are no longer touching each other in the bathingsuit area. Cinematical says:

Rose McGowan and Robert Rodriguez are no longer together and no longer getting married (they were engaged prior to this). Why is this important news? Why should people care? Well, partly because Rodriguez was in the process of lining up a few interesting movie remakes (Barbarella, Red Sonja) with McGowan in the lead.

So is this the last we have seen of Rose McGowan?

Rising from obscurity in a handful of films (Jawbreakers was my favourite) to replace the “doesnt play well with others” Shannen Doherty on Charmed as the new third sister. Then hitting an all time high in the cult favourites Grindhouse.

Then it seemed the only things we heard about her doing was Rodriguez. I mean doing his films. Actually I meant both.

So was she only entertaining her boyfriend’s projects and turning down everything else?

What does this mean for the future of Barbarella and Red Sonja?

    Hooorrray!

Now Robert can finally go back to directing real movies instead of career vehicles for his trophy girlfriend.

Let’s hope he finds someone fitting for his BARBARELLA-remake, so I can get excited about this project again.

I just read that Alba is on the job as Barbarella. I just read it today, but for the life of me I can’t remember where I read it.

  4. Rodney says:

All the sites I have seen talking about Alba as Barbarella are gossip sites and none are offering any legitimate sources on the idea.

  5. Andee23 says:

I don’t know where this leaves both projects. I just hope Rodriguez will still be on to direct seeing as one of the driving forces behind these project being developed is no longer a priority for him. Never mix business with pleasure.

    Saw it coming.

    There both disfunctional ego freaks.

  11. On one hand, I think it is really strange to break up over a developing film or two. There seems to be a bit more to the story. My best guess is that either Rose McGowan came to her senses and said ‘I could get away with Barbarella, but am I to Rodriguez as Fonda was to Vadim?’ or Rob decided that he made a huge mess and is now considering a reconciliation with his wife and so his kids won’t grow up thinking he’s an asshole.

  12. Sherrie says:

I’ve since heard that Rose and Robert are fine… still planning to do movies together. People: Rep: Rose McGowan & Robert Rodriguez Projects Still on Track

“Rose McGowan and Robert Rodriguez are still together – professionally and personally, sources tell PEOPLE. “

  13. Barbmole says:

I think that Shannen Doherty should play the role of Hillary Clinton if there is ever a movie made about her running for President.

  14. Paul says:

Ms. Mcgowan is far greater then people realize. She’ll rise above this as she is a quality actress and a suburb individual. She’s firmly rooted within Hollywood’s mainstrean on both TV and film.
