I know the first thing people are thinking is that these rumours are just leaked misinformation by Bay. Yeah, we get it. But my stance is that the misinformation gag WAS the misinformation. Bay has plenty to do without crafting elaborate details to mislead the fans.

/Film has gathered up some spoilers from around the net:

The opening of Transformers 2 takes place at a Steel Factory in Shanghai, China (filmed in Bethlehem, PA), where the Autobots, the British SAS (Matthew Marsden as “Graham” and Andrew Howard) and Captain Lennox’s Military team (Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson) are chasing after a Decepticon Audi RS8.

The autobots include a pair of robots called The Twins, which join together to form an Ice Cream Truck.

A hot pink ninja style motorcycle with black highlights which turns into Arcee

Go-cart named Wheels / Wheelbot and Stinger (possibly a Porsche)

Sam uses something called the “Splinter” (maybe a tiny piece of the alspark?) to activate the SR-71, which transforms into Jetfire. Jetfire as a Blackbird spy plane? Very Cool. For some reason he has a Decepticon logo

The involvement of a Constructicon Earth Mover pretty much confirms the rumor that the Constructicons and Devastator might appear in the film.

This confirms one thing to me. Robots.

There was some concern about the presence of so many robots when the story broke that as many as 20 would appear in the film. It seems that the Robots will be in smaller scenes each contributing to the story and setting the scene that other Autobots and Decepticons have established a home on Earth and work in different cells around the world.

Some personal notes. The Twins/Icecream Truck and Wheels sound like comedy relief characters. If Wheels talks in rhyme like Wheelie, my April Fools gag will be coming true. That will make it 2 for 2. (I inadvertantly predicted Prime would destroy the AllSpark two years back)

I do like the inclusion of Arcee, one of the very few female Autobots an inevitably they will have Megan Fox in some sexy motorcycle leathers which is a plus.

Jetfire, if you recall from the original cartoon was first recruited by the Decepticons until his own morals conflicted with their actions and he later found a home among the Autobots, and it sounds like this might be mirrored in the movie.

And of course, the hints of a Constructicon member suggest that they are catering to the strongest of the fan reactions to see a big combining robot in the film. Lots of talk about Dinobots being present too, (another fan demand) however aside from a short teaser clip some sites are reporting as proof of Grimlock’s involvement, I hesitate to commit to that as proof. None of the CGI effects are done for any of the other characters, so this is likely along the lines of early buzz generating clips like the Mars Rover footage clip that was released previous to the first movie.

(I inadvertantly predicted Prime would destroy the AllSpark two years back)

Except Prime didn’t destroy the AllSpark. Sam did.

    Still no dinobots. Kinda disappointing.

  2. Rodney says:

Yes Calviin, Prime wasn’t the one who did it. However in that prank I made up a story flaw saying that Prime destroys the very thing he hopes to protect, and that did turn out to be his fallback plan in the movie.

Sam simply twisted Prime’s orders, since Prime insisted that if things went bad that he would shove the AllSpark into his own chest.

I’m sorry, As much as it pains me, I gotta call Bullshit on this one. Bay did say he would be releasing tons of false info on TF2, the Ice Cream Truck sent up the red flags for me.

  4. Monty says:

An ice cream truck and a go cart? Sounds pretty intimidating, you would think after getting their metallic butts handed to them in the first movie they would find more useful vehicles to transform into. And if Wheels talks in rhyme like Wheelie I’m personally hunting down Micheal Bay and forcing him to watch a non-stop looping marathon of his own movies.

  5. Rodney says:

Bay saying he would lie about the news info WAS the lie.

The Ice Cream Truck is not that big of a stretch. There was a Decepticon that was three identical robots that transformed together to be a camera. His name was Reflector.

And Monty.. Forcing Bay to watch a looping marathon of his own movies? He would have one thing to say about that. Awesome.

  6. HAZMAT says:

Michael Bay would never have an ice cream truck in his movie or a wheelie.

Say whatever you want about him being a bad director (hes my favorite one IMO) but he does have good taste when it comes to movies related to the military. he had F-22s, F-15s, ofsprey helicopters, automatic granade launchers, navy seals and he made brawl look like the coolest m1 abrahms tank ever so far in his movies. im sorry- i just dont see him allowing this.

wether hes a bad director or his movies suck or not- he ALWAYS uses top of the line stuff. all the Predators and f-22s and that Ofsrey you see in the opening scene of Transfoprmers are the best in the military. you see some of that in The Rock also

No offense Rodney but i hope this is all untrue and im almost certain it is.

  7. Rodney says:

Hazmat…. maybe its a top of the line awesome icecream truck.

    Just sayin.

  8. Bruce says:

those robots have to be fake or thos movie is gunna suck! the twins? wtf

  9. Rodney says:

Bruce, there was triplet Decepticons that made one item in the original G1 Series.

  10. Sardaukar says:

    “Wheels”=Wheelie?
Jetfire transforming when Sam uses the “Splinter”? Could the “Splinter” be used to FORCE a Transformer to transform into his robot form, therefore forcing his reveal as a giant alien robot?

  11. Monty says:

@ Rodney… I was hoping that the logic holes and explosions would leave blind, deaf, and dumb …but You’re right, he’s probably built up quite a bit of immunity to his own venom, we need something stronger…Uwe Boll perhaps?

  12. Rodney says:

Its not an issue of immunity. He thinks they are awesome. If you made a movie everyone hated, do you think you would hate it?

Bay isnt a bad director. He just doesnt appeal to everyone. I like him for the movies he does. Because he does the movies he does.

  13. Rodney says:

Sardaukar – “Could the “Splinter” be used to FORCE a Transformer to transform into his robot form, therefore forcing his reveal as a giant alien robot?”

The fan speculation is that the splinter is part of the Allspark. It is suggested that it gives energy back to the transformers who simply “ran out of gas”. Not that it was used maliciously, but rather just a jumpstart to sleeping robots.

  14. Monty says:

It’s not a question of hate, I didn’t hate him before he made Transformers I tolerated him as much as the next popcorn movie lover, it’s just his style to create movies filled with nonsensical plot points and loud explosions, constant viewing of that combination would drive any sane person to madness.

As a movie director…meh, he fills a niche, but there is nothing special or original about what he produces, and nothing that couldn’t be duplicated by another music video director with big budgets to play around with.

  15. HAZMAT says:

    Rodney

lol maybe it is, a good disguise to decieve little 5 year olds to thinking tis a hagen daz truck before he desinigrates them…

  16. RJ says:

I would have liked to see more robot action scenes in the first movie, but still Michael Bay’s interpretation was pretty darn good. As a boy who collected the toys and used his imagination to imagine them transforming, what i saw in the movie was unbelievably awesome. I know Bay will make a bad-ass movie with this second one. Plus what would you really expect from a movie about giant transforming robots slugging it out? Explosions baby! I long for more, and hopefully it delivers as well, or more than, the first one.

  17. Ultra Magnus says:

Look, I don’t normall blog but regarding the Go Kart, if anyone pays attention to how they made the movie, I did, I work on film on the side, the GO kart, is one vehicle they strap cameras too!!!! The Go kart is not a transformer, as far as we know
