A bunch of new “The Forbidden Kingdom” character posters have surfaced over at IESB and I’ve got to admit I think they look pretty sweet. For those of you who don’t know what The Forbidden Kingdom is, here’s a little synopsis of the film:
While hunting down bootleg kung-fu DVDs in a Chinatown pawnshop, Jason (played by Michael Angarano – “24”, “Will and Grace,” LORDS OF DOGTOWN, SEABISCUIT) makes an extraordinary discovery that sends him hurtling back in time to ancient China. There, Jason is charged with a monumental task: he must free the fabled warrior the Monkey King, who has been imprisoned by the evil Jade Warlord. Jason is joined in his quest by wise kung fu master Lu Yan (Jackie Chan) and a band of misfit warriors including Silent Monk (Jet Li). But only by learning the true precepts of kung fu can Jason hope to succeed – and find a way to get back home.
Yes, the premise sounds LAME… but let’s see what Chan and Jet Li can do on screen together.
She has an english name – and she has a Chinese name. So why would they have to use the English one?
More people are familiar with her native name.
The only thing I found on google with Crystal on it was some fan images. Her official IMDB listing doesnt say Crystal at all.
They spelt Liu Yi Fei’s name wrong, that’s not too good now is it? Why didn’t they put Cyrstal Liu, since she has got an English name.
This is a remake of the famous chinese novel “Journey into the West” which has been made into movies a few times already. Most notably by Stephen Chow and it was called a Chinese Oddesey.
in fact AICN already have a review maded for a moviegoer and it looks preety good.
very good.
and you got to LOVE a girl with a name like Li Bingbing!!!
I have faith this movie is going to be fantastic. My favorite poster is of Chan, love his look.
The posters look slick, no idea about the actual movie though.
Some folks look forward to a Deniro-Pacino pairing. I been looking forward to a Li-Chan flick forever. On top of that, there is no, I repeat no appearance of 50 Cent in “Kingdom”! You gotta love it!!!
Oh, and these one sheet posters are outstanding. If I had to pick a favorite…Li BingBing’….but I want all four!
premise might be lame, but it looks like fun.
Purdy posters.
The premise for the set up to get from Chinatown to ancient China is a bit odd. But other than that it looks to be a very promising premise.
Plus as already said before, Li and Chan together. Very nice.
sigh…..imnot to sure about this one….besides the matrix most american made martial arts flicks have been so-so to bad…..and the story really sounds awful, hopefully the train the white-boy enough so the fight scenes look good……
but jet li and jackie kick all types of ass and havin them in the same movie gives me a kung-fu boner….
Mmm…Jet Li.
I don’t care how lame it sounds either. Jet Li and Jackie Chan finally on screen together…I’m sold!
