Kevin Smith gets his own Wii

Posted by on 01. 01. 2008in News Chat

There are two things in the world of entertainment that I have yet to find fault with. The first being Kevin Smith (just love the guy) and the second being the Nintendo Wii (insanely fun – yes I have one). So I was pleasantly surprised to find that custom console modder Ramon has made a Wii just for Kevin Smith.

Gizmodo reports:

This latest mod was comissioned specially for Kevin Smith, and features the four main characters from Clerks. Not only is the console itself really “Clerksy,” the Nunchucks have “Kevin Smith” and “Silent Bob” engraved on it so his wife knows which controllers are his.

Now I know that the International Friends don’t share my amusement with all things View Askew, but you have to admit that getting a well known modder to create a custom Wii just for you would be sweet, and even cooler if it was styled after one of your own creations. I think this is a silly cool pile of awesome.

Ramon, can you make us a Movie Blog Themed Wii? I am sure John would love it.

My Wii is just white. So sad.

A NES-style Wii would be cool, and it would be appropiate considering the success of the Wii

I have a Wii. Never really used it as a serious system until Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid came out. Before that it was like a jacked up party-game/conversation starter.

At any rate, the Clerks mod is sweet…

Yeah! Kevin Smith! Cheesy humor! Woo hoo!

Hey, John. In your last podcast you completely insulted the bat-fans. You said “How can anyone judge a performance based on one picture and one line?” One line??? You made us out to look like idiots. Heath Ledger’s Joker spat more than one line:

    FROM THE TEASER:

“Starting tonight, people will die. I’m a man of my word.”

    FROM THE TRAILER:

    “You’ve changed things…forever. See, to them you’re just a freak…Like me!”

    (HaHaHaHaHa)

    “Evening, Commissioner.”

    “Why so serious?!”

“A little fight in ya, I like that.”

“It’s all part of the plan.”

    “Come on! Hit me!”

“Let’s put a smile on that face!”

    (HaHaHaHaHa)

From the IMAX Prologue (First five minutes of TDK):

“No, no, no. I kill the bus driver.”

“I believe, what ever doesn’t kill you simply makes you…stranger.”

Along with these lines were several shots of the Joker. He was moving, he had expressions on his face, and of course he was laughing.

This is what made the fans draw the conclusion that Ledger might indeed be the definitive Joker. Just looking at his eyes, the way he moves, and laughs; he’s channeling this character. Jack did Jack with make-up. This is the first time we are seeing someone embody The Joker. Forgive us for being excited about it. And it’s more than one line…as you can see. Ten, to be exact.
