Wolverine-Magneto-Justice League-GI Joe Get Start Dates

Wolverine-Start-DateA couple of guys (Ty was first) have emailed me to let me know that the folks over at ComingSoon have put up a list of film start dates for a huge number of movies that studios are hoping to get into production before either the writers or actors or directors strike. Some of the notable ones that caught me a bit by surprise:

Wolverine – November 7th
This one isn’t really a surprise since we’ve been hearing for well over 4 months now that they’re were eyeing a November shooting start. It’s nice to see things are still on schedule with that one.

Magneto – January 1st
WHAT?!? The last I heard Goyer still didn’t have budget numbers and now they’re ready to shoot in 3 months? I’m thrilled to hear it, I’m just really shocked.

Justice League – February 11th
Not too surprising really. We’ve known for a little while that Warner has been hyper fast tracking this thing into production. I’m still predicting a disaster of colossal proportions the likes of which will become the stuff of Hollywood ledgend.

G.I. Joe – February 8th
DId not realize they were that far along already

Bond 22 – January 8th
YAY! Time for us to find out of Casino Royale was just a fluke or if Daniel Craig really is the best James Bond of all time

The Thomas Crown Affair 2 – February 2nd
I’m really glad they’re making another one of these. I quite enjoyed the first, and I’d like to see Pierce in one of these types of roles again.

Fast and Furious 4 – February 4th
Oh my dear sweet lord

So there you have it. What do you think?

  1. I am a member of the United States Military. I am very angry at the GIJOE movie being changed from Real American Heroes to a more global friendly picture that plays on the anti American sentiment. GIJOE stands for Government Issued Joes which came about during WW2 from a Medal of Honor winner. My self and other Military personnel are starting an email camping to boy cot Hasbro and all related items about the movie. As fare as I am concerned this is a slap in the face to all American Military world wide past and present. Any one involved in this Movie in any way is a traitor to the American Way of Life. Since when did it become so wrong to be a Real American Hero? To add insult to injury to all Americans, Cobra Commander is an American CIA agent turned traitor who ends up leading cobra. So an American in charge of a terrorist group!! Nice to see Hollywood is so Pro America??? 1 major insult I find is, in the movie GIJOE will fall under the command of the U.N. Since when did the U.N. do any thing for the world except complain and criticize those for taking action to help to help save lives?? Any 1?

I am a United States Marine and a Real American Hero. As fare as I am concerned the actors of the upcoming movie have turned their backs on the troops of the United States Military. Hear is a quote from a former service member Retired Army Col. David W. Hunt, a FOX News military and terrorism analyst, called the scheme to make a whole new Joe “a shame.” G.I. Joe is a U.S. guy,” Hunt said. “What are we going to call it — Global Joe? International Joe? It’s kind of stupid. It’s ridiculous that they’re doing that.

  2. Here’s my castlist for JLA:
    Batman- Ian Sommerholden
    Superman- Freddy Prinze Jr
Wonder Woman- either Jennifer Love Hewitt or Megan Fox
    Flash- Seann William Scott
    Green Lantern- Dwayne Johnson
    Aquaman- Justin Timberlake
    Black Canary- Akira Lane

  3. Let’s make up Fast and the Furious 4 titles!

Get Faster 4 da even Furiouser, dude!
    Get Furious for da Faster!
    Fast 4 da Furious!
    Furious 4 da Fast!
    B4 the Fast, get Furious!
Even Faster than B4 da Furious!

  4. Who honestly cares about Thomas Crown? It was an okay movie for when it came out. I have no intention of seeing some other aging actress with jowls even if she half naked.

I will however accept the Fast and the Furious sequel because if Vin Diesel is involved it saves us from seeing another Chronicles of Riddick sequel.

  5. Im am looking forward to Wolverine Magneto G.I. Joe and Bond 22

Iits not that i didnet lik the x men move i did i that they were good no so much part 3 but the 2 were fine i thing if wolverine and magneto were done the right way they coud be beter. I think and G.I. jo coud be relly good but there has to be alot of though put into it because it not going to be liek transformers and bond 22 all i can say it i though Casino Royale was ausome it what bond needs to be i jsut hope it wasent a one hit wunder we will find out next christmas

  6. Realy looking forward to some of these.

On the mention of Halo by Darren J Seeley, Blomkamp? recently mentioned in an interview (It was linked through comingsoon.net) that the current incarnation is completely dead, so I doubt we will see anything on that front for quite some time.

  7. Anyone hear about casting in G.I Joe? I just keep hearing rumours about Neal McDonough (Timeline, Minority Report)….but these are just rumours of course.

  8. I can’t wait for Bond! JLA and GIJoe are a wait and see. I think Crown 2 will be good, Pierce did a good job in the first one.

And What the &*%# is someone thinking with F and F 4?

  9. 1. Wolverine…
We should hear of confirmations of the rest of the cast shortly. Also, in theory, Professor X and/or Magneto could show up in cameos, as mentioned in X2, they both knew of Stryker or met him personally)

    2. Magneto.
I’m…just as surprised as Gio is. *However* I’m now wondering…if there isn’t one or two characters ‘crossing over’ from the ‘Wolverine’ film. (see above) …but my best bet on this is that, despite the timeline, (post WWII) it won’t be a huge 100 mil budget, maybe half that – and that both Fox and Marvel are hoping for a theatrical release within six months of Wolverine, whichever is released first. (Just because Wolverine is up and running first does not mean it will be released first) …but I do kinda hope Wanda (Scarlet Witch) and Pietro (Quicksilver) make appearences…

    3. JLA
will never, ever get to that date. The plug will be either be yanked, or Superman & Batman will be written out, and perhaps only mentioned by name.
(that is the only real roadbloock for this project- and yet who is the focus of JLA? Mmm hmmm…) ‘Nuff on that. You know where I stand. Warner’s: scrap it and just give the masses a Green Lantern or Flash flick.

    4. GI JOE
I’m not excited about this….but if that report of the Ninja-esque storyline hold true…I can sort of nod my head and say…okay. I’m not saying it’s the best idea in the universe, but …okay for the time they want to film it. Okay….I guess…

    5. Bond 22.
Actually, Gio…I don’t think Craig has been the best Bond yet, but I don’t think ‘Royale’ was a fluke either. To (sorta) reboot the franchise was the best thing to do. [“sorta’ because Dame Judi is still M, but that’s because she’s great as M]
But, as noted in other comments, some second unit has already started filming. As also previously noted, who ISN’T looking forward to this?

    6. Thomas Crown 2
Not a fan of the first film. But for the previous Bond, Pierce continues to have a career post Bond.

    7. Fast & Furious:
I actually liked the third film. What? They didn’t ask if Lucas Black wants to return? They want Vinny back? I think he can act, there are some (like Gio) who do not. But they also want Paul Walker back too-an even worse actor.

Hmmm…Lucas Black, if you’re out there, make sure to either thank your agent, and/or pat yourself on the back for striking while the iron was hot and then getting the hell out of there…

    Now….

Where is the start date for…

    8. Punisher :War Zone?
They have: location, cast, scribe, director, budget…? Sometime in January, right?

    9. Hellboy 2.
    ??

    10. Halo…
The start date is April 1st, 2008!

    hahaha

  10. 6 Bonds I wonder which is peoples favorite now. I still like Sean Connery the most but I think that Daniel Craig might actually end up being the best of the bunch.

  11. They only movie I’m excited about on that list is BOND. That one can’t come fast enough.
I couldn’t care less about the rest.

    Melbye:
They did already shoot some footage for BOND. But only second unit stuff in Spain. Although Daniel Craig visited the set, he didn’t take part in any of the filming.

  12. Wolverine and Magneto isn’t a surprise, those two have been in production for years, and i am really looking forward to both of them. But i am a little worried that Goyer is directing Magneto. he may be a great writer but everything he as directed so far has sucked

I thought Bond 22 had already started, anyways this is my most anticipated movie next year

I kinda hoped the impending strike would postpone Justice League, it really isn’t a good idea.

GI Joe, i think this is going to flop. To violent for children not violent enough for adults

Do we really need a fourth FATHF. I saw the first one and wanted to kill myself
