Apple TV has officially announced the global premiere date for its upcoming crime drama series Nocturne. The 10-episode series is scheduled to debut on Friday, October 30, 2026, with the first two episodes available immediately. Following the premiere, new episodes will roll out every Friday through December 25, 2026.
Based on the internationally bestselling crime novels by Lars Kepler, the series follows Jonah Lynn, played by Liev Schreiber. Jonah is an ex-soldier turned homicide detective who relocates to a small town in Western Pennsylvania seeking a quieter life. However, his peace is short-lived when he and his family are targeted by a cunning serial killer named Jurek Walter, portrayed by Stephen Graham. The narrative intensifies as Jonah enlists his surrogate daughter, FBI Agent Saga Bauer, played by Zazie Beetz, to help track down the killer’s final missing victim.
A High-Stakes Adaptation
The series is developed for television, written, and executive produced by showrunner John Hlavin, known for his work on Shooter and The Man Who Fell to Earth. BAFTA Award winner Rowan Joffe also serves as a creator, writer, and executive producer. The project is produced for Apple TV by A+E Studios in association with Range Studios.
The ensemble cast is rounded out by Bill Camp, Rory Culkin, Chrissy Metz, Poorna Jagannathan, and Gary Carr. Tim Van Patten, whose recent credits include Franklin and Masters of the Air, directs the first two episodes and serves as an executive producer. With the pedigree of the creative team and the popularity of the source material, which has sold over 20 million copies globally, Nocturne is positioned as a significant addition to the Apple TV library.
