Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has given us a new and exciting take on the Marvel universe. One of the most intriguing characters to emerge from this series is Spider-Punk, played by Daniel Kaluuya. This anarchic, electric guitar-wielding Spider-Man has captured the hearts of fans worldwide.
What We’re Learning About A Spider-Punk Movie
According to Deadline, a movie based on Spider-Punk is now in early development. The film will be co-written by Kaluuya and Ajon Singh, but plot details are being kept under wraps at this time. No other deals are in place, meaning it’s unclear if any other characters from the previous Spider-Verse movies will also show up.
The Amazing Spider-Man #10, created by Dan Slott and Olivier Coipel, marked the debut of the Spider-Punk/Hobie Brown character in 2015. This version of Spider-Man resides on Earth-138, where he fights against corrupt systems, corporations, and governments.
While we don’t have a release date for the Spider-Punk spin-off, it’s likely that it won’t arrive until after Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. Beyond the Spider-Verse will build off the cliffhanger featured in Across the Spider-Verse, where Miles Morales/Spider-Man is now on Earth-42 and facing a seemingly evil version of himself.
Final Thoughts
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse arrives in United States theaters on June 25, 2027. Into the Spider-Verse is currently available to watch on Fubo and FXNOW, while Across the Spider-Verse can be streamed on Disney+.
