Elizabeth Taylor dies at 79

Liz Taylor was known as “The Survivor” and truly deserves her rest passing away today at the age of 79. Last month new symptoms related to congestive heart failure caused her to be admitted into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for treatment where she died surrounded by her four children.

EOnline says:

Elizabeth Taylor, who died today at age 79, didn’t dwell on death—as she used to say, she’d already been there, done that.

“I’m a survivor,” she once said, “a living example of what people can go through and survive.”

Taylor had more than her fair share of health problems, but aside from being a living legend, she will most be remembered for her iconic Cleopatra.

Taylor was also one of three leads in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, as well as Hollywood’s first Million Dollar Boxoffice (Rock Hudson and James Dean also shared top billing in Giant). A laughable amount by today’s standards, but a milestone in 1958.

Taylor’s glory days were long past, but her charitable works went far beyond her silver screen days.

A true legend.

Rest in Peace Dame Elizabeth Taylor.
