Dwayne Johnson cast to be The Snitch

Dwayne Johnson is one of those actors that I have been secretly rooting for since the day he first donned the loin cloths as the Scorpion King. I hated his performance in that movie. Fast Forward a good decade or so and his resume of films is a bit more impressive and varied, with his latest addition asking him to name names for the good of his fictional son.

Dwayne Johnson is looking to headline the long-in-development action/thriller “Snitch” for Exclusive Media Group…

…Johnson will play the part of “a working class hero who risks everything to save his son, who is falsely imprisoned”.

Sounds generic enough, but the casting of Dwayne Johnson’s is what gets my interest. I thought his recent return to the ring might curtail his movie career for a moment, but I’m glad to be wrong with that one. I believe he’s a much better performer than his debut and I’m actually looking forward to him bringing that indistinguishable style of charisma to the role. It’s not very high on my ‘radar’, but it does have a home there.

  1. The Rock was good in Game Plan. He’s a good actor. He just needs to play the right role that fits his acting range. I’m not sure about Fast Five. We’ll see how that goes. Thanks.

  2. I loved him in Be Cool. His comic timing is genius in that flick! Plus put against Vince Vaugh, oh man he was good in that. Scorpion King was horrible though, but I atribute that to the director, not him. He wasn’t exactly a seasoned star at that point and so just did what he was told to do (I imagine). Everyone was horrible in Scorpion King.

    1. Couldn’t agree more about Be Cool, that was a great example of what happens when you make him play something other then a badass … he has such great charisma and comedic timing, i’m really hoping he does a straight comedy one of these days…
