…Johnson will play the part of “a working class hero who risks everything to save his son, who is falsely imprisoned”.
Sounds generic enough, but the casting of Dwayne Johnson’s is what gets my interest. I thought his recent return to the ring might curtail his movie career for a moment, but I’m glad to be wrong with that one. I believe he’s a much better performer than his debut and I’m actually looking forward to him bringing that indistinguishable style of charisma to the role. It’s not very high on my ‘radar’, but it does have a home there.

The Rundown is still a favorite of mine, had a nice mix of action/humor/drama.
I am rooting for Dwayne Johnson also.
The Rock was good in Game Plan. He’s a good actor. He just needs to play the right role that fits his acting range. I’m not sure about Fast Five. We’ll see how that goes. Thanks.
I loved him in Be Cool. His comic timing is genius in that flick! Plus put against Vince Vaugh, oh man he was good in that. Scorpion King was horrible though, but I atribute that to the director, not him. He wasn’t exactly a seasoned star at that point and so just did what he was told to do (I imagine). Everyone was horrible in Scorpion King.
Couldn’t agree more about Be Cool, that was a great example of what happens when you make him play something other then a badass … he has such great charisma and comedic timing, i’m really hoping he does a straight comedy one of these days…
Faster was a lot of fun I hope he fills the shoes as the modern action hero it is how ever his destiny
