No Twilight at Comic Con This Year

Despite the popularity it brought to the event, the endless lines and crowded halls at the San Diego Comic Con (which is becoming increasingly less about comics) will not be because of Twilight this year.

In fact the over crowding is why I don’t go to Comic Con, despite the cool events like The Masters of the Web Panel (This year hosted by former TMB Editor John Campea and moderated by Edgar Wright and Roberto Orci)

Rest easy Con-goers, as Summit Entertainment has just confirmed to Cinematical that there will be no Twilight panel this year. Whether it’s because they have no Breaking Dawn footage to show (it won’t start shooting until the fall) or because the cast just didn’t want to do it, we don’t know.

Fans seeing one of the Twilight panels at ComicCon was heculean effort. Lines wrapped buildings, and people waited full days hoping to get within 300 yards of their favourite topless hunks. These fans literally missed the entirety of the Con despite buying tickets for it, just to sit in line for one of the events where the Twilight stars attended.

It was rediculous.

But of course this does mean there will be far fewer girls at the con this year. More room for beardy gamers. Just sayin.

  1. Twitards ruined a lot of con for people last year. They would monopolize ballrooms all day making it impossible for people to get into panels that had nothing to do with Twilight simply because later that day there would be a Twilight panel or a cast member in that room. I’m glad they won’t be there this year, but unfortunately I won’t be there either. GRRRRRR!
