Miranda Cosgrove to star in How Can You Do This to Me

The squeaky clean spunky appeal of Miranda Cosgrove is making the leap from her quiet small screen successes back to the big screen with a neat comedy twist on the broken family called How Can you Do This to Me.

Ramascreen shares:

Paramount has hired British author/screenwriter Emma Forrest to rewrite family comedy HOW CAN YOU DO THIS TO ME? as a starring vehicle for Cosgrove.

Based on a pitch by Andy Marx and Andrea King about a teen of divorced parents who feels that her parents’ divorce has actually improved her life. But her life is turned upside down when her parents decide to rekindle their relationship, so she tries to break ‘em up.

Maybe they will call it the Parent-Untrap!

But honestly, this little girl had tons of personality in School of Rock, and while her show iCarly on Nickelodeon was outside my demographic, I knew we wouldn’t be seeing the last of her.

Besides, with Lindsay Lohan spiralling the drain we need a new pretty face to take over those family friendly teen films.

Check out this infectious song she did for her Nick show:

  1. I feel that Cosgroves talent as far as acting is concerned is undeveloped, although she has a successful TV series mainly because of an audience whose composed of teens. There are however quite a few young people who acting in the big screen is natural. Cosgroves move to the big screen can give her a start and feel to what is expected of her and may ultimately give her that edge to sustain her there. Its going to be exciting to see what happens especially when it comes to young actors ambitions within the movie industry.
