Thor seems to be a popular topic today, and one of the Warriors Three has walked off the job to be replaced immediately by a lesser known. Stuart Townsend cites “creative differences” as Joshua Dallas steps up to take his place as Fandral.
/Film offers:
Stuart Townsend, who was cast as Fandral, has left the film over “creative differences”. In his stead will be Joshua Dallas, a young actor with not much of a profile. Dallas has previously been cast in the sequel to the UK horror classic The Descent, and will also be seen in the upcoming George Lucas-produced Red Tails
Stuart Townsend also left Lord of the Rings to be replaced by Viggo Mortensen as well, and that shift seemed to work. The difference being that Jackson felt Aragorn deserved a more mature actor, while in this situation creative differences seemed to be the tip off.
As /Film speculates, the fact that he is off the job and replaced so rapidly suggests there was trouble brewing already. “Creative Differences” could mean anything. But when someone walks so suddenly, its usually more than a couple of minutes before a replacement is announced.
How significant the Warriors Three will be in the plot is unknown, but I am curious how it all plays out and how Dallas fits in.
