Charlize Theron in Mad Max 4?

You know what we haven’t had a lot of lately? Post apocalyptic road battles and mutant social throwbacks. And you know who says that better than anyone? That’s right! Charlize Theron.

Ok, I thought saying it would make more sense, but its not working yet. I will get there. But yeah, Miller’s hopes for Mad Max 4 apparently has Theron in mind.

Cinemablend says:

George Miller has been touting a new sequel to Mad Max for, what seems like, forever. One thing he’s always been fairly adamant about is that if he does it, Mel Gibson
won’t be in it. George Miller thinks he’s too old. Who isn’t too old? Charlize Theron.

Now Milla Jovovich made apocalyptic sexy chic, and as much as I think Milla is tasty, Charlize could swim in feces and still be hotter.

So I am in. Just to see what happens.

  1. Eric Banna is perfect no doubt about that one. Their are plenty of movies that show him off as not only very capable action guy but more importantly able to really act. I also think he should be coupled again with Jennifer Connelly who’s another person who can do a dual act of been the sex woman as well as having great acting skills.

    1. Max will be there. If Gibson doesn’t come back (which he isn’t), recasting is the way to go. Tom Hardy supposedly is in the running to take over for Mad Mel.

  2. Seriously, how can they make a Mad Max movie without Mel Gibson? It would be like making a Rocky movie without Stallone. Or a Die Hard without Willis. It’s ridiculous.

If they make one they better not call it Mad Max. Since it’s titled after Gibson’s character Max Rockatansky. Unless they replace Gibson and still have the character with someone else playing him. Then the movie would be dead to me.

    1. The proposed film will have a Mad Max, it just wont be Gibson playing him.

The guy who played Picard’s clone in Star Trek Nemesis (Tom Hardy) is apparently up for the job.

Its been a while for a Mad Max film, so I don’t see a problem replacing him. Especially since he is no spring chicken anymore. I dont want to see a 60 year old Mad Max.

      1. Uhg…

Why not? I think it would be interesting to see how the world has changed. Bringing an older Mad Max would into the fold would allow us to see that and how Max has changed as well. Though I see how making Max an old guy could be redundant. He comes out of retirement… He left that life behind him but something happens that forces him to come back and kick some ass. We’ve seen all of that before.

I still don’t like it. It’s going to be hard for me to accept anyone else playing Mad Max. Mel Gibson, at least the old (younger) Mel Gibson is one of a kind. I guess I’ll have to wait and see. Once more info becomes available.

      2. No different than a 60-year old Stallone and Ford jumping back into action roles from the 70s-80s. I Recently watched the “Edge of Darkness” trailer, and Gibson still looks like he can mess someone up.

  3. I had never seen the Mad max movies, so I watched the first and did not like it very much, and I couldent even finish the second, so I dont really care for Mad max 4.

  4. Mel Gibson too old for Mad Max?! If anything, he’d be too young!

Thunderdome (’85) was set 15 yrs after Road Warrior aka Mad Max II In Thunderdome, Mel Gibson was under makeup to make him look beaten, weathered…and older. So if Gibson is “too old”, I suspect that Mad Max 4 takes place shortly after the events in Thunderdome.

But look…if Sly can do it (Rocky, Rambo), if Ford can do it (Indy Jones) is there something wrong with Mel Gibson reprising Max Rockatansky?

I suspect Gibson simply isn’t game for it.
