Mila Kunis Joins The Book of Eli

KunisWe have word today that Mila Kunis will be joining Denzel in The Book Of Eli. We get the skinny thanks to microfilm found in the fallout caves of Yahoo:

“That ’70s Show” veteran Mila Kunis, fresh from her breakout feature role in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” has joined the cast of the Denzel Washington action thriller “The Book of Eli.”

In the title role, Washington plays a lone hero who must fight his way across the wasteland of a near-future America to protect a sacred book that might hold the key to saving the future of humanity. Kunis plays a woman named Solara, at first enlisted to betray Eli, she ultimately joins him in his quest.

Why did they have to throw a love interest into this Post – Apocalyptic film. It was sounding so promising up until now; I’m quite disappointed with this news. I don’t mind Mila Kunis, it just seems that love interests are often thrown in for no good reason, and often will ruin a film that would’ve been far superior without one.

This sucks. Book Of Eli – you just fell a few rungs on my anticipation meter.

What do you guys think? Does romance have a place in the life of a person with a life pact to protect a sacred book? I say thee nay!

  1. I side with Bishop on this. She does get hotter as she ages. I did not keep up to much on Max Payne when it was coming out, so I did not know she was going to be in it. Through the entire movie my thoughts were “this woman is pretty hot”. Some how I did hot even manage to connect the her voice during the movie to Family Guy. Sad to say I did not even realize it was her until the credits and I was hitting my forehead repeatedly saying “stupid.. stupid.. stupid..”. She is most definitely developing into quite a woman.

  2. As time passes Mila Kunis grows hotter. To be fair, it doesn’t say Love Interest anywhere. We can assume it, but that doesn’t make it so. There was a chick who joined Riddick on his quest in Pitch Black, and she joined him on his journey, but she was certainly no Love Interest.

  3. Did I miss something? It doesn’t say “Kunis plays a woman named Solara, at first enlisted to betray Eli, she ultimately falls in love with him and joins him in his quest”. She might just decide to join the guys quest. Yeah, you’re probably right; they’re going to bump uglys half way through the movie.

  4. After seeing her in American Psycho 2 I never wanted to see her in a movie again. After seeing her in Max Payne and Forgetting Sarah Marshall my opinion has changed. I look forward to having her in this movie. If done right and the “love interest” is done very subtle like and dramatic, as opposed to over the top and sappy, I think it will work fine. I am more worried about Washington starring in the movie. Yes, he has been in some really good movies, but I just do not care for his style of acting. That is just a matter of my own preference though, nothing against him and I am sure I will see this movie when it is released.
