Date Night

Tinafey-1
It looks like comedic black belts Tina Fey and Steve Carell will be joining forces in Date Night. We get wind of this project from our friends at the movieweb:

Steve Carell and Tina Fey have signed on as a married couple for the comedy Date Night, to be directed by Shawn Levy for 20th Century Fox.

According to Variety, Josh Klausner wrote the script which is based on an idea by Levy, whose 21 Laps will produce. The story follows a couple who find their routine date night becomes much more than just dinner and a movie. Date Night will begin production next year.

I like this team up. Not much news about the story itself, but I can see Carell working well with Fey and am curious to hear further news about this project. When we get the details, we will be sure to pass them along.

International friends – what do you think of a Fey/Carell team up?

  1. I love how when I’m reading The Movie Blog through Google Reader and can’t see the post author, I always know it’s a Doug post by the ridiculously hot images he puts at the top (see Sarah Jessica Parker).

  2. I liked Carrell in 40 year old virgin and the only good thing about SNL was Fey on Weekend Update before she left. 30 Rock is hilarious and Fey is funny and hot with or without the spectacles.

This has a good amount of potential.

  3. tina faye is genuis and anything she writes has been pretty much gold….30 rock is fantastic….if carell can finally channel what makes him great in the office on screen, this was a ton of potential….and my God does she look good in that pic, and the fact that shes funny and smart makes the boner so much more…lol

  4. I can only comment on Tina Fey not the other guy. Tina Fey is a genius and will always be one. Its fair to say that she’s done really well for herself what with having smarts, being witty, even producing Mean Girls.
