Jonathan Rhys Meyers has been cast for the Swedish forged supernatural thriller Shelter. We get the following news thanks to the professionals at Variety:
Jonathan Rhys Meyers is looking for “Shelter” opposite Julianne Moore in a supernatural horror thriller being produced by Nala Films. “Shelter,” scripted by Michael Cooney (“Identity”), will be directed by the Swedish duo Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein (“Storm”). Lensing starts in late March in Pittsburgh.
Snooping around IMDB, I noticed gobs of films named Shelter. This one is scheduled for release in 2009 and another Shelter will follow in 2010. This begs the question; What is the most shared movie name of all time? I will do my best to find out, or at least until my ADD kicks in, and I lose interest.
Supernatural thrillers are not usually my bag, but once and a while I am surprised, and a film will force itself upon me with its greatness. The Orphanage was one such movie and perhaps this film will follow suit. With Julianne Moore on board, you certainly have as good a leading lady as you could hope. Jonathan Rhys Meyers has been blessed with a leading lady of legend, and now we wait to see how the story will unfold around them. We will be sure to keep you up to speed in the details of this film and will give you a plot summary when it becomes available!
