Johnny Depp to Return to Hunter S Thompson?

High Lord Johnny Depp appears to be attached to more projects than I think any one man can actually appear in. Perhaps he has been cloned.
And since a casting call for a movie called The Rum Diary calls for a sexy woman, and that love interest is to be for Depp’s Fear and Loathing character Hunter S Thompson (listed as Depp in the call) it looks like this will be sequel.
Now, we’ve got a casting announcement that suggests Depp’s next project will be The Rum Diary, which would see him reprise his role from Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas and bring Hunter S. Thompson to screen once more…The casting call is for Chenault, the love interest in The Rum Diary, who – from the casting info – seems to just be walking sex
I found Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas was a complete story and really didn’t require a sequel, however I anticipate that since Depp is involved it will be heralded as cinematic genius long in the waiting.
Do we really need more Hunter S Thompson?
